As someone who has fished out of state tournaments, i find that it is a great expirience and a great way to gain knowledge of how fish behave in different situations and habitats. A situation you may see in one lake could be completely different then your home lake. For instance, when the water is in the low 40's, the bass in Greenwood and Hopatcong SHUT DOWN! Anyone who has fished in those lakes in March knows what i mean. However, in Danbury, CT when the water is of the same temperature, the bass seem to turn on. i know it sounds weird, but i fished a tournament there last April and was culling 3 pound smallmouth by noon! On a crankbait, no less. I cant think of a spot on any lake im used to fishing where that would be possible.

that is a great point Joe it would be a great way to learn new experiences and how fish act in different environments.
