Chapter 1 - The Village Hidden in Moonlight

- Using the scroll left behind by Fuzuya's subordinate, Sesshou, the village of Konoha had an upper hand against Orochimaru by knowing his next move. According to the scroll, Orochimaru was heading to a hidden village known as Getsuiegakure (Village hidden in moonlight) which is completely unreachable except when there's an eclipse in that area. They had to wait a year until that eclipse happened. They set up quickly and prepare to intercept Orochimaru before he starts his next move.
- Mamoru, Kaien, Tahashi, Akumu, Monuku, Yatai, Chouba, Iri, Kensei and Ajiko were split up into squads and sent in to search for the village.
- They travelled to the southern part of the Fire Country and made it to where the village was meant to be, although they couldn't see anything. After a few hours, the eclipse finally happened, the moon shadowing the sun and darkening the area completely.
- A strange gate appeared and the group made their way towards it. They were immediately confronted by a mysterious man dressed in all black and wearing an orange swirly mask with a single eye-hole. The man warned them about what was up ahead and even opened the gate for them and then dissapeared.
- They head inside of the gate and made their way down into a cavern. The inside of the cavern had various candles and a large rock chair at the back.
- A voice then echoed in their heads, "Working alone proves difficult. Teamwork is the key to victory." Dirt gathered up onto the chair and formed into Orochimaru who immediately attacked the group. Using the hint, the group worked together to take down the doppleganger but were faced with the next challenge; "Hatred is the path to destruction. Forgiveness is the path to freedom." Another doppleganger formed, this time taking the form of Soichirou. They group knew what they had to do, and most of them had already made their peace with Soichirou during the events on Neo-Aether, all but Mamoru. Mamoru still held a grudge against Soichirou for killing his mother, Sakura. After some time to think and persuasion from his friends, Mamoru managed to forgive Soichirou who immediately afterwads dispersed into dust. Another quote echoed through the room; "Understanding your enemies will lead to world peace." 10 Statues emerged from the ground all around the group, each one modelled after one of the 10 deceased Akatsuki members, and each statue fell in halves. Katsuro and Jiraiya's dopplegangers were formed out from the ground and begun their assault. The team quickly figured out that by reforming the statues, they'd sink back into the ground, and after completing all 10 Jiraiya and Katsuro dissapeared.
- With all 3 tests complete, the gate ahead of them opened up. A strange and nervous man stood behind the gate, welcoming them. The man, who's name is Jinenji, explained that by completing the challenges they were worthy of joining the village which turns out to be some sort of cult.
- The group made their way into the village. They saw hundreds of cult members gathered around a large statue, facing a large building and all doing handseals as some sort of sign language prayer.
- Jinenji brought them all into his house and fitted them with the same robes that the cult members were wearing, welcoming them into the cult. He told them that the eclipse is a holy day for their religion because they worship the moon but explained that today was even more special because their prohpet arrived in the village a few days before.
- After informing them a bit, Jinenji brought them outside where the prophet would be making an appearance. They went outside where the rest of the village was gathering and stood facing the large cathedral in the middle of the village.
- They were surprised to see Nojiru walk out and onto the Cathedral rooftop, another man accompanied him who Jinenji recognized as the high priest of the village and the entire religion. Following them was a cloaked person pushing in a wheelchair-bound, ailing and aged Orochimaru. Orochimaru looked extremely frail, with his bones obviously visible and his hair hanging off his face in a disheveled manner with a rinnegan eye peering down to the masses below. After a quick introduction the group return into the building.
- The Konoha shinobi returned to Jinenji's house and began planning their assault on the cathedral and subsequent termination of Orochimaru, but before even being able to even finish their planning Nojiru burst into the room.
- Nojiru taunted them with his usual cocky attitude but refused to allow them to engange in battle. Instead, he ordered them to meet him outside where he'd lead them to Orochimaru who requested to meet with them. The Konoha group reluctantly agreed.
- Nojiru lead them all into the cathedral and into a room where Orochimaru was sat along with the high priest and 2 cloaked individuals.
- Orochimaru explained his plan to reach the moon in order to achieve the status of Godhood and told them they had absolutely no chance of stopping him. After instilling a bit of despair he ordered the team be killed once and for all. The high priest started off with a jutsu that warped the team into a black abyss and teleported them outside, along with Nojiru and one of the cloaked strangers.

- The fight started off with the cloaked stranger revealing himsef to be Kabuto, resurrected from the dead and equipped with a new set of rinnegan eyes. He removed his unneeded glasses and adjusted his hair to fit his new look.
- The Konoha shinobi were caught between 2 powerful enemies and were forced to divide themselves and face the threat head on.
- After a quick battle, Kabuto began to fall back and told Nojiru to do the same, but Nojiru refused. Kabuto warned him that if he doesn't retreat now he'll be left on earth alone. Nojiru still refused, stating he wanted to settle the feud between them once and for all.
- Kaien, Tahashi, Akumu, Kensei, Yatai, Monuku and Chouba stood up against Nojiru while the others tried to stop Kabuto and Orochimaru from taking off.
- Nojiru displayed his mastery over his Bijuu and all 5 elements but the Konoha group managed to keep up with everything, forcing Nojiru to constantly increase his capabilities.
- They finally managed to forced Nojiru to his limits. He took a moment to ridicule Akumu and his poor synchronization with his bijuu and then displayed his fully controlled 5-Tail 100% synchronization form. In this form, Nojiru takes the form of the Gobi Bijuu itself which is a massive 5-tailed wolf.
- Nojiru became incredibly ferocious and his destructive force was increased 10 times over as he thrashed about the area, toying with the shinobi.
- The Konoha shinobi felt overpowered and had the idea of forcing Akumu to his full form to fight the beast with a beast of their own.
- They pushed Akumu until he reached his fifth tailed form but it still wasn't enough. Akumu managed to do some damage against Nojiru, but Nojiru fought back fiercly. The rest of the group backed Akumu up until Nojiru was forced into a corner and took some heavy damage from various attacks.
- Nojiru was left in a smoking crator with the bijuu's chakra dematerializing around him. He suddenly spoke from within the masking smoke, explaining a bit about him and his bijuu. He revealed that both he and the Gobi were under attack at the same time and the only way to survive was to bond together, and that their bond was different from most jinchuuriki in that their bond was an actual fusion rather than just a sealing.
- An incredible aura shot out from within the smoke, causing it to dissipate and reveal Nojiru's new form. He had surpassed 100% synchronization and became a fusion of both Nojiru and the Gobi, with silver chakra-composed fur covering his body, 5 tails, feral fangs and claws and a dual voice. Nojiru's speed and strength was increased a hundred times which allowed him to easily begin overpowering his foes once again.
- Everyone noticed a bright light suddenly shoot from the village and into the sky. It rocketted up past the clouds and dissapeared into the distance, heading straight for the moon. Nojiru knew it must've been Orochimaru which means he was already too late.
- Nojiru had one more ability to display which was a thick mass of black chakra which was a fusion of all 5 elements at once. He used this new form of incredibly destructive chakra to break down the Konoha shinobi rather quickly. With an imitation of the rasengan using this combination element he was able to completely obliterate the entire area in a several mile radius, leaving nothing but a barren wasteland and heavily wounding those around him.
- Despite the overwhelming odds, the Konoha shinobi rallied together and performed a chain attack against Nojiru, constantly battering him from every angle and not allowing him a chance to recover or counter-attack. They finished it off with a well placed combination attack, seemingly finishing off Nojiru once and for all.
- The Konoha shinobi were almost completely depleted of chakra with an accumulation of wounds from the entire fight but finally had a moment to rest, although it didn't last long. Nojiru stood up again but with his entire chakra coating gone. He was heavily fatigued and wounded. Chakra slowly drifted down from the sky, falling like snow onto all of them. Nojiru was surprisingly calm, as if his personality had changed completely and he began explaining his situation to the other shinobi.
- Nojiru was abandoned by his family and lived as a nomad most of his life. Every day was a struggle for him to survive, he travelled to various countries and saw the very worst in people's hearts and slowly grew to hate everyone. Nojiru was attacked by members of a Kirigakure group one day and left to die in a snowy terrain. At the same time, the Gobi bijuu was battling the shinobi of Kirigakure and was somehow heavily wounded as well. They were planning on sealing him and using him as a weapon but e managed to escape. Gobi found Nojiru dying in the snowy field and came to the conclusion that the only way they'd both survive was if they fused. Gobi would rather share his essence with Nojiru willingly, rather than have his powers used against his will as a tool for someone else. Nojiru was now a single entity with the Gobi bijuu. The mizukage found him and revealed himself to be Orochimaru, then gave Nojiru the option of joining him, promising him vengeance against humanity in general which Nojiru came to hate so much. Nojiru agreed and was immediately put to the task of infiltrating Konoha and later getting revenge on Kirigakure by completely destroying it. Nojiru explained that the timid, kind and compassionate Nojiru they met when he was in Konoha wasn't an act at all but rather his original personality with the Gobi's being surpressed. Only after fusing with the Gobi was his personality changed into the cocky, brash and violent Nojiru they came to know. Nojiru admitted that his time in Konoha was the only time he actually felt accepted by another group even if he was undercover, and even thought of Kaien as his closest friend when he returned to Orochimaru. Even the battle-craving Gobi was fascinated by their fighting drive and will of fire and saw the shinobi of Konoha as rivals. Both Nojiru and the Gobi looked foreward to every encounter with the group.
- Nojiru told them that the Gobi was killed in the last attack and it was his chakra that was snowing down from above, but could sense that the Gobi wanted one final clash with them. Nojiru collected the remaining Gobi chakra into a rasengan and even the Konoha shinobi were slightly rejuvenated with the Gobi's chakra. Each of them prepared an attack of their own and charged forewards in a massive combination attack as Nojiru did the same. Nojiru unexpected loosened his grip just before the collision, forcing him to take the brunt of the inevitable explosion which wiped all of them out.
- Nojiru landed in a deep crator, heavily wounded and bleeding out pretty quickly but with a sense of satisfaction. He raised his hand into the air, reaching out for the moon. Nojiru took his final breath and dropped his arm next to him as he finally came to rest...
- The Konoha shinobi recovered from the explosion and gathered around the fallen warrior. Despite being an enemy, they respected him and decided to give him a proper burial.
