Dear All,

Some of you may be too young to remember me in person and only know of me from the history of La Grande Armee but...

I am pleased to announce that I have returned from my retirement, and hope to regain my commission within the current setup.

Perhaps someone could enlighten me on the modern ways of wars or even point me towards the battlefield?

Sincerely,

MS

Marshal,

I am honoured with your return! Things have quit changed since the LGA days but the principles are still the same. You know our strength and code, and you diserved your title during the LGA days whiich is still valuable in the Napoleonics Ranks.

You are hereby honoured to change your Name into [N]Marshal Scotaidh. Your titles and and status are hereby restored. You will be stationed in the Imperial Guard untill further notice.

Marshals Riflegreen and LS will be pleased to see you back!

I know who you are and so does LS and RG, maybe a more detailed introduction to introduce yourself to the army would be appreciated.

"The Battle of the 3 marshals" would be some nice literature...

Hello sir,

Welcome to Napoleonics,
Nice to see some of the officers of LGA come back to where they belong. As Dury said; a little more elaborate introduction would be appreciated:
Where do you live? How often and when can you be on the field so we can arrange battles together. Is your battle horse ready?

Thank you, it is good to see some old faces.

A more detailed introduction...

I am from Scotland, not much more to say about that, anyone who implies national stereotypes does so at their own risk.

I am a scientist by education and employment although I have also studied history and languages.

I prefer to play the games which represent the late 18th and early 19th centuries with an historical viewpoint in mind. As Jacob has already eluded to I did have a good reputation as a defensive player and also an artillery commander. I hope I can live up to that when I start playing again!

Regards,

MS

Well Marshal we are happy to have you, we hope that you will be active and reinforce our European contingent who has so far been mainly dormant, reading poetry, eating good food and picking daisies. Some of our European Marshals probably are too heavy for their horse LoL. ( trying to poke the bear here and get a reaction hehe). As you can read in the high command section Emperor Dury plans to re breath life in the european army.
Our most active component plays USA time around 9-midnight US central time (GMT-6), but on weekends we are on earlier in the afternoon at a time where we can all meet.
I'll look forward to playing alongside you and frankly I am now intrigued by your defensive skills. I would love the challenge of testing that once you are back in shape. I am mainly an offensive officer using combined arms who always wants to attack even when defending.
During weekdays your best bet for a game is to hook up with Dury, Lancier and Tactacus. Tactacus is a bionic entity that is highly intelligent, does not require any sleep and is on and ready for battle 24/7.
There are rumors that tactacus is built in our teamspeak server but i have not been able to confirm this yet.

Again welcome and hope to see you soon on the field of battle

Sorry to inrrupt in this thread just to tell Tac that odd argentain is spelled odd Argentine.
So Marshal Scot welcome, I have no clue who you are but Marshals baton are very scarce and very jelously given... except for that one that we all know... so, it will be a pleasure to encounter you on the lobby for a battle or a quick dram of Talisker and really hope that you are back for good and not like everybody else that anounce their return and never turn up or heard of them ever after ... Marshal Jesus, as I call them....
Yours trully

I'll need to remember that one.

Thank you for all the continued welcomes.

Unfortunatly thine warhorse is not very fit, nor is its master.

I have ETW installed, I gather that you also still play NTW2, therefore I should install that also. If someone would be so kind to point me towards the latest version...

I also would like to have people's MSN for organising games, if you wish mine you may PM me. How else do we organise games these days? Do we use a voice chat thingie?

Someone drag me into the 19th century.
