Title: More Xbox problems

No it's not a red ring, it just hasn't had any audio in a while. Everything is hooked up right and the change is either overnight or caused by the update I installed that doesn't work properly anyway. Microsoft is awesome and their games are as good as gamecube ones.

I'm not a huge fan of Microsoft and this may sound biased, but the Xbox had GAMES? Even the 360 library offers more variety.

DG - March 23, 2012 05:19 PM (GMT)
I'm talking about a 360. And the 360 actually has a pretty darn good library, which is confusing because it's an awful console.

Wii 1st party>>360 First party
Wii 3rd Party<<<360 3rd Party

Wii has a pretty sh*tty 3rd party, but a great first party. 360 has a good 1st party, but Wii's is a bit better. 360 3rd party beats the hell out of Wii's.

DG - March 23, 2012 11:23 PM (GMT)
I think the 360 has a somewhat bigger competent library. But that could just be my demographic talking.

EggBeatr8 - March 24, 2012 12:41 PM (GMT)
PS3 has basically the same 3rd party library, but 360 is more popular because it had a head start in release. The 1st party doesn't appeal to me, because it's only has like (3?) exclusives and the rest you can get on the PS3. And to tell the truth I'd rather wait and pay more for a system that won't break rather than a system that might break and wipe out all my game saves. That risk is just not for me.

Well sure but I don't have any firstborn to sell and the sbox was free. It doesn't matter how badly designed it is, it matters that it's broken.

Except that almost every 3rd party on the XBox360 you can also get on the PS3 and with a less sh*tty piece of hardware.

But I digress, since DG's XBox wasn't even his choice to own to begin with. Try reconnecting all the cables and letting the console cool down properly.

Yeah I have, it's been a week or two like this. Weird.

I miss the simplicity of older consoles.

That's why I play my N64, NES and other old systems more than the modern ones. There are still so many NES, SNES, Genesis, Sega Saturn and a sh*t load of consoles that I haven't even scrapped the barrel of the available games.

This is a common mistake, IIRC; from what I've been seeing 360 is actually more powerful than the PS3 in terms of performance alone. Everything else is a different story, but one evidence that can support this is that UMvC3 doesn't lag on the 360 while there are certain conditions in the PS3 version that make the console lag

There are many subtle examples too but they happen so seldom that people usually don't care about it, but the 360 counterparts usually show signs of a more stable runtime.

Again, everything else is a different story (loading times are still uberly slower in 360)

EggBeatr8 - March 25, 2012 02:58 PM (GMT)
The 360 has longer load times than the PS3? That's a record in itself.

At least from what I've seen so far. I don't own either a 360 or PS3 though so I'm only just seeing these through observation when playing in rentals + tourneys

Ah you'd be right on the hardware performance thing; Bayonetta has longer load times on PS3 than on X360.

But what I meant in my earlier post was hardware reliability, since this is usually the sore point between Microsoft and Sony's consoles.

Huh, OK now this strikes me odd. I'm pretty sure I keep seeing PS3 loading faster then 360...
