Since I'm sure that anime is very popular amongst people here, what are some of your guys favorite anime shows, I'm not a big fan of it, but there are a few I really like, they are

1. Detective Conan (Case Closed)
2. FLCL (Fooly Cooly
3. Pokemon (1997-1999)
4. Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo
5. Lupin III/Cowboy Bebop


That's really all that I like a lot, there's a few others I watch occasionally, but what do you guys like?

Right now I'm just really watching One Piece and TRYING to get back into Nana, which I stopped half-way through for some damn reason months ago.

I don't really watch much Anime, but I read a lot of manga. Though of the Anime I have watched, here are the ones I can think of that I really liked:

...Hm. Well that list would brobably be ten times longer if I didn't usually read the manga versions instead.

There are also a few I haven't listed because I didn't get to see too many episodes. Like Alien 9. It intrigued me, but then they took it off of on-demand.

Currently watching Ghost Hound and debating on wether o not I like it or not. The characters sure are cute though.

I see you have Lupin III, I used to watch that show a lot when I was in 2nd and 3rd grade, it's one of my favorites but it's been at least 10 years since I watched it. I can still remember pretty good though.

I must add 'Kimi to Boku' to my favorites now. ^^ Just watched the 6th Ep, and i Loved it~

I thought it was good but that the comic was better in some ways.

However, people usually uses that word for Japanese-styled animations~

Yes, anime is the Japanese word for animation, and so, in Japan, it would be accurate to describe any cartoon as anime.

However, much in the same way "noir" is simply French for black but is used in most places to describe a specific genre of film and NOT simply used to describe anything that is the color black, anime is used in the English-speaking world to describe any animated series created (or at least primarily animated and designed) in Japan.

I don't think its unreasonable to call it anime. If you make a noir film in America you wouldn't call it "black", you'd still call it noir. So even though anime is a Japanese word (which comes from the French word anyway btw) it is a word that accurately describes the Boondocks art style.

Well, yeah, it's clearly in an anime-esque style. But it's not an anime as far as the medium goes, any more than a comic book with big-eyed characters is manga.

Anime is like J-Pop. It's Japanese. You can't have J-Pop from Italy.

WTH? Seriously? Boondocks was animated by Koreans? I never knew that.

I LOVE THE BOONDOCKS! But yeah, it doesn't resemble an Anime at all.

Btw, one thing that's i've wondered a lot about, is that, Why isn't there a Harry Potter anime? HP is apparantly very popular in Japan, and Anime/Manga is about the only thing HP isn't yet~
