Title: Custom AR cards
Description: for Nintendo 3DS

Hey guys,

I've created the custom AR cards if you bored of the original AR cards that come with your Nintendo 3DS. Try these in the "AR Games" app in your 3DS.

Print these in A4 paper size and in portrait orientation without fitting picture to frame.

So far I've made only 3 sets. More can be downloaded from here.

I have no idea how you make 3D pop ups with paper, but....

MAKE A ZERO SUIT SAMUS PLEASE!

CRAZ1ah - February 27, 2011 11:39 PM (GMT)
Is this even possible?

just try these cards and the characters in these cards will appear

If I have a 3DS I'll try. If it works this opens up a lot of possibilities!
The thing is, I don't know if I'm that stupid.

Yeah, of course they won't work.
It wouldn't make any sense if they did.

pikaby - February 28, 2011 01:48 PM (GMT)
It's easy to make one, but if the console doesn't recognize the character on the card it will definitely not work. IMO these things come with system updates.

johnny139 - March 1, 2011 06:42 AM (GMT)
I don't even vaguely understand how this whole system works to be perfectly frank.

pikaby - March 1, 2011 01:14 PM (GMT)
Just play along and assume that the 3DS is programmed to respond to the pictures on the cards. Think of a digital camera's face recognition feature and you're somewhere close.

Which is also why custom AR cards are just for wishful thinking and nothing more.

blubbermarble - March 1, 2011 05:56 PM (GMT)
then why don't you post a video about you use a 3DS with the custom AR card on YouTube?

Crossburn - March 1, 2011 07:57 PM (GMT)
Shouldn't you be the one doing it to prove that it works?

DestinλGuy - March 1, 2011 11:13 PM (GMT)
I... What? This doesn't make any sense. How would seeing these images help the console build models for the characters?

CRAZ1ah - March 1, 2011 11:59 PM (GMT)
Unless the models are already loaded into the 3DS itself which they are not! He's just trying to get us to buy the 3DS again.

pikaby - March 2, 2011 02:24 PM (GMT)
I mean, Doraemon, Taiko no Tatsujin and -frickin hell- SPONGEBOB characters actually work? On a Nintendo console which doesn't have the magic ability to turn everything it sees into 3D models, regardless of whether it has even seen the object or not? I doubt it.

Unless there is a new bunch of AR cards officially released by Nintendo, and a system update to make them work.
