A standard BP Mew set worries more about phazers than trying to KO something, so they usually carry a set such as:

-Hypnosis
-BP
-Stat up of choice
-Ice Beam/Flamethrower/Earthquake/Thunderbolt

Despite Mew's unpredictablity, the same concept can actually backfire at the Mew user since he doesn't exactly know what to prepare for.
