Considering the past several days had been solid rain, today was rather pleasant. The sun wasn't fully out and there were still plenty of clouds in the sky, but the rain had finally come to a hault. The ground was now thoroughly drentched and the leaves on the trees had all turned so the shiney side was face up. Every sign of life was showing signs that it had enough of the rain. Even parts of the grass were under water in certain areas, but the bugs didn't seem to mind, especially the misquitos. They were quite please with themselves.
Poking his head out from a whole under a large oak tree was a black face with tiny bit of tan on the top of the muzzle. His ears were perked and his nose wiggled as he sniffed the fresh air, which the smell of rain hung heavily in. He finally stepped out a big more, his front right paw landing in a puddle of mud. He lifting his head, he glanced around. Everything seemed to still be where it was before he went in for a nap. All of the surrounding bushes and trees were still there. Even the large boulder that wasn't too far in front of him was still there. After a moment of just looking around, he hopped out from the den and moved towards that same boulder and jumped on top of it. As far as he could see in any direction were just trees and more trees. Although he couldn't see it, he knew from previous experience that there was a source of water not too far. Though, at the moment he was a bit more hungry than he was thirsty.
