Title: Fakemon Folly
Seeker - June 13, 2007 08:19 PM (GMT)
Stage 1

Stage 2

Part Poison type, nothing else decided. Perhaps I will make some decisions eventually.
Criticism please, more on the designs then the pictures. (The pictures took like 2 minutes)
Appeal ~ Would you want one?
Cute ~ Is the first stage cute? If not, why?
Flow ~ Do the forms flow together?
Feel ~ Do the designs seem somewhat possible in Pokemon?

(See colored pictures at top post)
Shaved the outline, didn't do the legs though. (So it looks quite funky.)
On the second one, I was just like "Ahhh, **** it".
I like the second one better.
What are your thoughts on the color scheme?
I have come up with a type, :poison: (I'm so original >_>)
Any opinions on these?
Even if you want to say their awful, thats still more criticism then I have.

About the first and the second evolution, they look way to alike.

Better?
(It's not the best sketch of the first stage below it, but it was for a quick reference)

Yeah, it's just that it looks alot like a scorpian pokemon and altogether there are like three. Okay that wasn't much, but I think it should be more origenal. Sorry if that bummed you...

No, criticism is only a bulding block for better designs.
I've got another redesign, though I have yet to scan it.

I'd show some of my fakemon, though they would need a scanner and I don't have one.. Okay, the design is good.

Good direction or bad direction I'm heading?

I absolutely love the first stage (the colored version; the swooped up tail looks nicer than the waggly one). The second stage doesn't do anything for me, and I can't seem to place my finger on why that is. It could be that it's just too plain. Try taking the little legs and round body of the first stage, and using that as a motif for the second one.
The idea of a design motif is very important when you're designing Pokémon evolutions, as a way to make evolutions look like a part of the same line while still making them original.
