Canon Characters, Updated: September 4, 2009

CANONS ARE IMPORTANT.

We need canons; they're wonderful and help bulk up the site a bit.

You all basically know the rules for this already, but if not... here we go again. :]

o1. Do NOT simply register as a canon character. If you are an existing member, you will PM the application to one of the admins on the account you have. If you are a new member, register with an original character name—use this account to apply for a canon. The admins will change the name if we decide to give you the canon.
o2. You need to post here saying who you are applying for.
o3. From that date you have seven days – unless otherwise stated – to get that application in and after the date designated by the administrators, applications can no longer be submitted.
o4. The admins will not play favorites, as that would be completely unfair to the other members of the board. That means that if an administrator chooses to try out for a character, they will not have any say in the results whatsoever. It also means that even if a deciding administrator is friends with someone, they will not lean towards choosing them just because they're friends or just because they were asked to.
o5. Correct punctuation, grammar, and spelling is key, especially if you want a canon character.

The following is a Master List of all the canons on Magic’s Finest.
• A regular name indicates that the character is not currently being played by anyone, and that you may apply at any time.
• A name with a strike through has been taken already.
After the names come a letter and a number; the letter (G = Gryffindor, H = Hufflepuff, R = Ravenclaw, S = Slytherin) identifies the house, while the number denotes the character’s year.
• This is the most basic information—all applicants are expected to check the HP Lexicon or the books themselves for more details about the character. If we get an app for Sirius Black that makes him a muggleborn, we won’t be pleased.

NAME: Your character's full name, including middle name
NICKNAME: What does your character like to be called?
GENDER:
AGE: How old is your character? Please remember that the age of your character needs to relate to what year he/she is in.

PERSONALITY: Give a detailed description of your character's personality. The house you will be sorted into will depend greatly on this portion of your character bio. Please remember that we don't like it when a member purposely makes their character brave, just so they'd be placed in Gryffindor. If we see that your character is described for only one house, then we will most likely ask you to add more depth. Try to give your character some distinct personality flaws. No Mary-Sues/Gary-Stues please.

APPEARANCE: Please provide a celebrity play-by for approval. Avatars are good, but detail is even better. How do they dress when not in school robes? Are they tall or are they short? Hair color, eye color, body build, anything. Don't forget to add some flaws. Your celebrity MUST be approved before you begin RPing.

HISTORY: What happened to your character in the past? A great amount of detail is important here. How did their past make them who they are today? At what age did magic begin to show itself for them? What kind of family do they have and what is their home life like? Because of the recent surge of foreign students, all students from now on must only be of English/Irish/Scottish descend.

PETS: ONLY owl, cat, toad, or rat
WAND: Type of wood, wand length, and core. Wand cores can ONLY be phoenix feather, dragon heart string, or unicorn hair, as all wands should be from Ollivanders’.
BLOOD: Pureblood, half-blood, or Muggle-born? (NOTE: for the moment, we are only accepting Half-Blood students, as there are too many purebloods and muggleborns)
