WELCOME Before you proceed please realize that you are not the first created player. Once a new Created player's information has been verified and approved, it is moved into the Players in the League forum. If this board seems empty, that is the reason why. To create a player, copy the following player template (everything in the code box), into a "New Topic". Then use your player's name for the "New Topic" title and your players position for the "New Topic" description and paste the template (below) into the thread. Height Limitations: Just so you know there is a height limit based on your position to avoid unfair advantages. Your player can be as short as 5'8" but I must warn you not many are created at that height. Please don’t make your player taller than the allowed height because it will be changed to whatever WE give you if you do it wrong. QB's - 6'6" RB's - 6'2" WR's - 6'3" TE's - 6'6" LB's - 6'4" DB's - 6'2" (Step 1) copy this template for your player into the topic you create (everything in the code box)
Do not copy anything below this point (Step 2) This is how you fill in the information from above once you’re ready to fill it out: Real Info Name: -- This is your real name Email: -- This is your email AIM Sn: -- This is your AIM Message Board Name: -- This is your board ID. Player Info Player Name: -- This is you player's name and should also be the title of the thread. Position: -- You may choose QB, RB, WR, TE, MLB, OLB, CB, SS, FS (no Fullbacks), basically any position except for kicker and offensive and defensive lineman. The position that you choose is very important. Although it may change (many times) throughout your career it will have a big impact on how much playing time you receive. For example, most GM's start at QB or RB for their own team. The likelihood of you being a starter at these positions is quite slim. Also, if you pick QB and upgrade your arm, then decide to change to FS, the points on your arm CANNOT be moved. If you wish to see how you might fit into the current rosters look here. All League Players By Position All Team Rosters Age: 20 -- This is the age of your player. All players start at age 20. (Please do not change this). Height: -- This is the height of your player. If you select an outrageous height it will be ignored. Weight: -- This is the weight of your player. If you select an outrageous weight it will be ignored. A 160 lb. MLB will be ignored. A 380 lb. WR will be ignored. Skin Tone: -- This is the skin tone for your player. Please select Light, Medium, or Dark College: -- This is the college your player went to. Number(s): -- This will be your players number. Year Added: -- This is the season that your player entered the league. (Please do not change this). Updated Points Total: -- This is the total number of points that you earn from tasks. It starts at 0 and does not include your first free 35 points. (Please do not change this). The skills format listed below is directly related to Madden '05 player attributes. All skills start at 35 and the max is 99. You get 35 free points to customize your new player. To use them, add them onto any categories that you like in any combination. You may put them all in one category for a total of 70 or split them into as many categories as you wish. (Step 3) Player Attributes: Skills: Speed - 35 Awareness - 35 Throw Power - 35 Throw Accuracy - 35 Agility - 35 Break tackles - 35 Carry - 35 Catching - 35 Run blocking - 35 Jumping - 35 Acceleration - 35 Strength - 35 Pass blocking - 35 Tackling - 35 Kick Return - 35 (Here is an example) Speed 35 + 20 = 55 Agility 35 + 7 = 42 Kick Return 35 + 8 = 43 Total added 20 + 7 + 8 = 35 If you make a mistake in your math, one of the Commissioner's will require you to fix the error before you are admitted into the league. For a preview of how our update scale works click here Miscellaneous: -- (Do not change anything below Miscellaneous but please still copy it). This section is for future upgrades and/or deals with the business side of your player. Money: $0 -- This is your player's bank account. Every player starts with no money. Contract: none -- This is your player's contract status. You have not yet signed a contract. House: none Car: none Family: none Equipment: none -- These are your player's purchases. Once you earn money to spend you may update these at the Player's Store. Career Stats: Year 1 Player of the Week Honors: Awards: -- These are your credentials and achievements. This will be updated as necessary. Once you have followed these steps you're created player should be approved within 24 hours and you will be moved into Free Agency or the Draftees forum depending on when you joined the league. Helpful hints: Choose a position that you are really interested in. The more you are interested in your player, the more likely you are to stick with your player and work harder to update him. Be aware of the player limits of each team. There can only be one Quarterback, but there can be many wide receivers, linebackers, and defensive backs. If you really want to play a limited position you will have to work hard and may still be on the bench for a season or two, waiting for a roster slot to open. Sometimes players have to go inactive and you may get a chance to jump in their slot--if you can out work them. Height and Weight are significant factors in your player’s performance. Almost all WRs are created at 6’3 because, in Madden, being taller helps with getting open. Heavier players are generally slower. This may or may not affect you player at his position. Some positions are better suited for heavier players such as linebacker. Be aware that your player’s height will automatically be adjusted down to fit the position if necessary. For example: if you are a 6’6 TE and you switch to WR, your height will automatically be dropped to 6’3 AND will you can never go back to being 6’6 again. However your weight can change up to 15 pounds per season. If you don't understand something about the league please click here so that members can offer their assistance.
