This tutorial is copyrighted to VESC and me

FOR BOTH GIMP AND PHOTOSHOP

PS:I posted this here since it goes for both GFX and spriting

Here I'm going to tell you how to delete backgrounds in BOTH GIMP and Photoshop

PS:The background MUST be a blank color, otherwise search google for "rendering tutorial"

FOR PHOTOSHOP
1-Open the image you wanna remove it's background
2-Make a new document, make it's background color transparent, make it BIG, real big
3-Now go to your image, copy+paste it to the backgroundless document
4-Now get magic wand tool (Looks like a magic wand duh) and click the background, then press "delete" on your keyboard
5-TADA, your background has been removed (That checkered pattern means no background, only see-able with IE7, Flock or Firefox browsers)
6-DO NOT FORGET TO SAVE AS PNG FOR BEST QUALITY, GIF FOR ANIMATIONS

FOR GIMP
1-Open an image
2-Go to layer>transparency>add alpha channel
3-Get your magic wand (Z) and click the background
4-Press (Control+K) OR Edit>clear
5-TADA, continue step 5 and 6 as Photoshop's tutorial

Hahahaha, yeah it is, before I used to use the magic eresar tool to remove the black BG of sheets and stuff but sometimes I would erase more than I wanted it to.
