The Silmarillion is a completely in-depth book, covering the first age of ME, and before that as well. Tolkien also described the Valar, and the creating of the Great Music... etc. I would reccommend, if you're going to read it, not to read it too fast, because it's a lot of information at one. I'm reading it for the third time, and now I'm bringing out my highlighter to get out all the important stuff happy.gif

I really don't know how I have the time, as I am also reading The Mists of Avalon, and have to do summer reading. But, I'm reading it for the third time, and I'm hoping this time I'll understand it all smile.gif

On The Silmarillion? I don't think so, only because it's very detailed, and it would be too complicated a movie to be released for the public (and people who liked LOTR wouldn't understand The Sil, so I don't think it would do that well). I don't think anytime soon they will do a movie of if, especially if a Hobbit movie isn't in the future/being thought of.

Find what anywhere?? mellow.gif

Also in reading the book, you get more information and more knowledge then a movie could ever give you.

I found it in my local book store and I would imagine any library would have it. Have a good look around, if not I'm sure most book stores will happily order it in for you.

The Silm is a good read! but i warn ya of the fist few chapters.. took me forever to get through it. lol but after the first time round it gets really easy for ya to read. There is alot of Information in those first few pages that just makes ya "wow" I dont think even the most talented film crew could make a movie out of it. There is just tooo much to it. laugh.gif

The Silmarillion is the hardest book to read. I am still reading it! It took me about 5 days to read the LotR. I am very fast reader. But I mean, wow. It is so detailed and intricate. Its a hard thing to take in all at once.

I agree, it is very intricate, I read through LotR pretty fast the first time, I went back to re-read it and realised what a big mistake that had been, there so much in it.
