Okay I have heard many rumors that PJ is thinking about making a movie of the Hobbit...has anyone heard it too...does anyone have any credible proof of either him doing it or not? i hope he does...that would be wicked awesome.

I have herd these rumors as well... even seen promotion posters for a Hobbit Movie! I think it would be sooo cool if PJ made a hobbit movie coz it would help alot of those people who have not read the books fill in some gaps that all us who have read the books understand. Hmmmmmm *day dreams*

I had heard these rumors, but seriously, promotion posters, cool. I would love to see this made into a movie and I would be disappointed if PJ didn't.

sorry to burst your bubbles..but i read somewhere that it's not likely to be in the works for these couple of years yet cos he's busy with King Kong. besides, while i commit blasphemy, I didn't really liked The Hobbit as much as I did Silmarillion and LOTR.

It is a wierd thought isn't it, the graphics which have won award after award considered old and decididly crappy. Ah, maybe one day there will be a new series.

they were seriously considering of making one but he thought it would be too much work. and they probably figured it would be better if they did it off to begin with instead of after all three LOTR movies. it would be awesome though. did you guys know that it took 7 years to make all three movies? that would take sooo long. that's half my life.

It's not really 7 years, it took them 2 years to film the movies then the graphics for each was done gradually for each movie as it came out.

Didn't it take them 2 years to just shoot the film, but then PJ was scouting around for possible locations, finding actors, writing the script etc, even before everything was worked out of the movies and everything.
And wouldn't that be weird, in like (random number) 60 years someone else takes on LOTR and makes new movies. it took them more than two years to shoot all three... it probably took two years for each movie..

No, it took them 2 years to film the movies, because they say that they made them over a two year span. Probably not counting if they had to go back on location for extra shots, etc, but yeah, 2 years. And you can even tell, it doesn't look like much time passes by (by the way all the acots/actresses look). If it took 2 years for each movie... I'd be like the Harry Potter movies, you can really tell that time has passed by.

i think you might be right. i watched harry potter today and they look soooo much older. but how can you tell because the actors in lotr have already had their growth spurts but in harry potter they're adolescents.

They say in the DVD special features that most people celebrated 2 birthays while on the set. And we know they didn't have any growth spurts because they were all adults when they filmed, I haven't seen and 40 year olds have growth spurts lately
