Characters Name: Assia Aldero

Personality: Assia is friendly and very tomboyish. Despite having the appearance of a woman that should be femine, she is often rambunctious and wild, playing games and rarely sitting still. Growing up sheltered she often seems “green” when it comes to worldly ways and sense, but she is eager to learn. She also is what some call a “horn-dog” and is always trying to chat some attractive woman up…and often succeeds.

Appearance: Assia is extremely attractive in her own way and has blond hair, although you can tell by her dark roots itsnt isnt really blonde. She has tanned skin from her Arabic and European roots, and typically wears jeans and a jean jacket. Her tee shirts change at times, but it never fails to amaze people how bummy her clothes will look, while she appears stunning in them. While working she wears her wavy hair up in a ponytail.
Assia also has several tattoos. There is one around her navel which are Arabic characters “haab waahid “ (mean “one love”}, a design on lower back, and one on upper shoulder saying “only God judges”


Equipment: Carries an elaborate tool kit for fixing engine parts. Along with need tools (wrench etc…) she also carried spare parts for parts of a vessel that occasional need replacing. On her person she carries a small blade.

History:
Assia Aldero grew up on Ariel and loved living there. Her father, Jimil Aldero, was a respected physician, while her mother was always home to help in raising Assia and her brother. Growing up in an extremely religious and wealthy family, she knew what was expected of her. She would study the teachings of Mohammed, go to school, get married and then become a stay at home wife and raise children.
She found that her knack was technology and her uncle, an engineering supervisor for the Alliance, cultivated that and taught her all that he knew and she worked with him while attending a prestigious private school. Around 15 Assia noticed that she wasn’t interested in any of the boys her family introduced her to. It wasn’t until college she knew why and fell in love for the first time, with a girl in one of her classes. Knowing what would happen if anyone found out she hid this.
At the age of 22 she graduated with a degree in engineering and began working for a small ships design firm. She had heard many stories about the war and while they were always told from the view that the Alliance was in the right, she wondered if they were mistaken. When the war took her Uncle’s life she knew they were mistaken. Though he left her a hefty sum when he died, she couldn’t help but feel that the war was a mistake and in vain.
When Assia’s family found out about her relationship with the girl from school, they were heartbroken. Her father angrily demanded that she leave home. Assia left, but harbored no resentment to her parents because she knew their beliefs. While ostracized from her parents she remains in a close relationship with her big brother who is among the Alliances ranks. He keeps her updated on family happenings and often comes to bail her out of a jam.



Skills: Very apt with engine parts and speaks both English and Arabic fluently. Her familial connection with the Alliance had enable her to have inside information on Alliance activity before hand. She also is patient when it comes to dealing with bad situations, making her calm under pressure and has been trained by her brother and late uncle in hand-to-hand and weapons combat.
