Libertas Weyr
Based on an older version of Libertas, Renatus brings back all your favorite old characters, as well as offers a chance to bring in new faces, while throwing in danger, excitement, and a bloody good time.
Please make sure to read our History, then go on to either ask questions in the Guest Forum, or sign on up if you'd like! Links to our history, dragon colors, and availability of dragon colors can be seen below.

Weyrbowl
The largest of the mountain formed bowls in the area, the weyrbowl itself is a large valley with its main exit being towards the beach, and thus, the sea. Sentries are posted in a ring around the bowl itself, which leads to every area in the weyr.

Rider's Weyrs
Dotting the cliffs surrounding the weyr bowl and beach are many caverns, each leading to the private rooms of a rider and his dragon, and possibly their weyrmate. The larger caverns are closer to the bottom, and the smaller ones are higher up.

Wherhandler's Quarters
Just off to the other side of the kitchens and down a corridor are the wher handler rooms, large caverns split into two separate areas. One side holds a sand wallow and chains on the wall if necessary, the other side is the human's room. The sides are split with a heavy black curtain.

Kitchens
Just off to the side of the bowl emanates the rich, hearty smell of cooking food, beckoning all near. Close to the lower caverns, the Kitchens are a favorite place for a bite to eat and some good conversation. Its also a tense place sometimes, especially when food stores start running low, mostly during dark winter.

Lower Caverns
Just to the side and underneath the Kitchens, the lower caverns hold everything weyrfolk need to do their jobs and get on with their lives. It is also a popular spot for clandestine meetings in its dark corners...

Infirmary
Seperated into two areas, one for humans and the other for dragons, the infirmary is the place to go if you are hurt and sick... After Threadfall, it holds those who have been injured. Experienced healers work here day round to take care of those who need them.

Records Room
Information filled, this room is filled with tomes of knowledge, many of it open to the public, as well as keeping records of the dragon clutches dating back to the beginning of Libertas. It is also said that secrets as far back as the crossover from the North are kept here, but where they are hidden no one knows.

Creche and Play Area
Kids seem to be everywhere, followed around by hassled crechemothers and occasionally in packs. Laughter and tears both can be found here, and its the starting place for many of the weyr's current candidates.

Formal Hall
One of the largest caverns in the weyr, apart from the Hatching Grounds, is the formal hall where all the most important banquets are held. It can easily hold even the largest gathering of people, and often the weyrlings as well. Used rarely, it is still kept clean and neat at all times, the walls hanging with banners in Libertas' colors.

Gardens
Two distinct areas, the Gardens are a new addition to Libertas, built when the need for beauty built up. Made up of two separate caverns, one is a rock garden, and the second a lush, true garden, watered with an ingenious system that brings water-melt from high above. Both caverns are typically warm and quiet, gardeners moving around taking care of business, and it is a relaxing place any can enjoy.

Training Area
Because of the need for everyone, especially riders, to be in good physical shape, this area was built for training in all manner of physical combat. There is a large room filled with practice dummies and padded objects, as well as a cleared area for hand to hand combat and weapons practice. There are also smaller multipurpose rooms, which can be used alone or for smaller groups.

Smithy
With so many buckles, belts, and tools being needed, the Smithy is another rather new addition to Libertas Weyr. Candidates are often tasked to serve out duties here, whether helping out the smiths themselves or simply cleaning up after them, though its a somewhat dangerous place to be for the inexperienced.

Candidate Barracks
Where those with the hopes of becoming dragon riders reside. The boys and girls are separated by a wall, and each side can hold up to twenty five candidates, making the total number of rooms fifty. Each room can house two candidates and sports spare furnishings and a small bath.

Hatching Caverns
Located in the back of the weyr, the Hatching Sands are centered in a large cavern, big enough for hundreds of dragons to come and watch the Hatching... But beware, angry mothers roam here and don't look kindly on snoopers... The main cavern is directly connected to the Weyrwoman's quarters while several side caverns serve for smaller dragons and whers.

Weyrling Barracks
Consisting of 30 rooms for females, and 30 rooms for males, each room consists of two sections, one for the dragons and the other for their weyrling partners. Each room is sparsely furnished, but has a nice bath. There is a dragon latrine at the end of the hall.

Wherling Barracks
Consisting of 15 rooms for females, and 15 rooms for males, each room has two separate sections, one being a sand wallow for the whers with chains on the walls if necessary, and the other half for their human handlers, seperated by a heavy cloth. Each room is sparsely furnished, but has a bath.

Mountains
Mountains surround the weyr on all three sides not leading out to the beach... Here great trees tower, and wild animals can be constantly seen, as well as the occasional feline... Weyrlings and Candidates are barred from this area, and only the experienced can go out and scout this area.

The Skies
Mostly clear during the summer, wild winter storms thrash the area and ground any dragons from flying. Harsh gusts also blow off the sea at unusual time periods, meaning dragons have to be far more careful of the flight conditions than they used to.

The Beach
What used to be a mainly sunny and fun place to be has become more desolate in the past years, shifting weather patterns causing the fish and dolphins to head for warmer waters, while turning the air cold except for the middle of summer. Its still a fairly beautiful place to be, but not nearly what it once was.

Great Valley
One of the largest valleys, Great Valley is some distance away from Libertas, and home to some of the notorious holdless and bandits that dwell around. Its not a safe place for anyone, man nor beast.

The deadly menace that seems to grow worse every year, Thread has stolen the lives of some of the best and brightest, seeming to grow ever worse with the weather. Still Libertas' dragons fly and fight each Fall to keep their land safe.

Azure Hold
Only a short walk from Libertas Weyr, Azure Hold is still small by most standards, but rapidly growing along with the weyr. It has very close relations in the weyr and boasts of a Dolphincraft Hall as well as a rising HarperHall.

Hold Courtyard
Like the weyrbowl of Libertas Weyr, the Hold Courtyard is the epicenter of the hold, everything can be reached from here... People can be seen chattering here all day long and it is a popular place for Dragonriders to come on Search.

Island Weyrbowl
Rather a cramped place, at least for now, the Weyrbowl is where everything seems to take place. One section for training, one section for the tents that house riders and handlers, one section that houses dragons and whers, and one last section for landing. While construction rages, this is where everyone lives.

Where practically EVERYONE lives, these quarters are, in fact, a tent city. A large tent city with large tents, but until the weyrs are built, this is where people have to live.

Weyr Caves
After many long weeks of excavation and outfitting, at last the Weyr Caves were opened on the Island, which serve the same functions as the Lower Caverns on the mainland. Here are the dining caverns and the storage caverns, as well as lodging for weyrfolk and weyrbrats. Most daily life is now moving in to these caves rather than taking place in the 'Bowl.

Island Infirmary/Kitchens
This area is protected, and the first to be excavated from the island. It is used for both the kitchens and the infirmary, and is kept incredibly clean because of that.

Trainee Barracks
These halls of rooms are reserved for weyrlings and wherlings, their lodgings after Impressing both after Island clutches and Libertas clutches. As such they are extensive, taking up a great portion of the living space on the Island, with each room furnished with sparse furniture and an area for their bonded, with varying sizes for varying ranks of both dragon and wher.
