Title: Toil and Trouble
Description: Green Flitter Tess' Flight
Sneaky - September 4, 2011 02:13 PM (GMT)
Tess was not pleased. Not at all pleased. Her red jeweled eyes stared out from the middle of G'hin's pillow and so watched the room's occupants. Pidge's prying nose earlier in the day had only ended with more grief for G'hin to deal with. The man could sense that something was not quite right with the green flitter and so gave her as much girth as she so pleased. The marble between Tess' front claws clinked as she manipulated it. She had soon lost interest in it before she oozed from the pillow and flew over to G'hin's shoulder which only upset Pidge who had gotten extremely use to G'hin's warm lap.
The Bronzer was stern between the two of them and knew that he could not finish this paper if he could not have any peace and quiet. So without a word to the two of them, he deposited them outside of his weyr ledge. Tess hissed at him for doing such a rude thing and so flew over to Sikkisyth who was too busy sunning himself in the winter sun to be bothered by the bother of little flitters although he did open an eye to acknowledge them.
Tess hissed at Sikkisyth and at Pidge before she took to sitting on the edge of the ledge and so watched the people that went on about their daily tasks a fair distance below. As she sat there, she slowly felt a stirring in her body that came with an ache that needed to be sated. Pidge instantly perked at such a feeling and turned his head to look at her. He was met with a furious look from the Green and so cheeped his disappointment. Tess would not allow him to Chase her.
The Green flitter dropped from the ledge and opened her wings before sending up a sharp call for the male flitters of the Weyr. She was ready to Rise and she needed Chasers. Her very blood and body called for it. They had better not disappoint. She was a Green, after all.
Thalia - September 5, 2011 06:12 PM (GMT)
The platinum flitter was at his wit's end. His' hatchling was the most irritating creature, always grabbing at him and chasing him and never letting the flit get a moment's peace. The child had caught Sycorax's tail just this morning, causing the platinum to hiss in pain. He had barely turned to the tiny human when His had swatted him away. Sycorax couldn't understand Kattrin's unfairness. He was the one who had been hurt, not the stupid baby.
Sycorax had winged away in anger, looking to take out his frustration away from his owner's overprotection, and away from that bratty hatchling human. The silvery flitter found some relief in terrorizing a foolish pair of candidates picnic-ing by the lake, diving at their heads, raking scalps and pulling hair, and using several tried-and-true maneuvers to avoid getting hit by their flailing arms. When they finally ran away, the flitter was bored again, and did not deign to follow.
Instead, he flew to a shallow cove further up the bank, where he knew little schools of fish liked to sun. They were easy picking, and within a few minutes, he had a tidy pile of succulent fish for lunch. The platinum was just settling down when a far more tempting call woke the fire in his blood. With one fish still clamped in his jaws, Sycorax looked to the sky, where his prize glittered. Pausing only to strip one side of the fish, the platinum chewed quickly as he pushed off up into the sky. He no longer tasted the delicious flesh. A new delicacy called. His wings beat powerfully, propelling him upward and Sycorax trumpeted as he reached the green. He had answered her challenge, and would win.

NPC Wild Blue Twitter
Persona: Flighty, bold, flirty, proud, scatterbrainedA sleek blue firelizard happened to be resting in the crook of a tree just outside of Libertas. He was a large blue more along the size of a small brown. However he still had the sleek lines and agility of his rank. He was a startling shade of sky blue with streaks and swirls of lighter blue. It was as if someone had taken a bright summers day with a few wispy clouds and fashioned it into a hide for the flitter. He was quite proud of his hide truth be told. If he hadn't been resting he'd probably be showing off to the ladies. He was quite the flirt. However the sun felt good right where he was dozing and a green was calling...
Wait! A green was calling!
The blue's head snapped up and moments later Twitter was in the air. He had a lady to catch! Winging his way toward the weyr he hesitated for a split second. He wasn't used to going into the two-legger's territory. They were unfamiliar but the lady called and he wasn't going to ignore her call. He quickly arrived where the pretty green was immediately noticing the platinum. Oh shards a ranking male was already here! Twitter was no coward though. He crooned and trilled sweetly to Tess as he swooped and showed off his hide while he waited the start of the flight.

ONYX KING & PRINCE
King was less than pleased. He and his brother were curled up in a pile of bandages they had ransacked from the Infirmary cabinets, then dragged back to rip them up and form a nest where they could keep an eye on their human. The bronzerider had not quite been himself since forever, because their memories were not long and it felt like forever. The other onyx shifted with an irritated trill, twisting around and upsetting King. The older made an angry sound and pecked at Prince, which started a squabble fulls of squawks and claws. Th'kar glanced at them and ignored them, not bothering to mutter about their behavior. This irked King. It would have irked Prince, but everything irked him.
The fight stopped as suddenly as it started, both males sensing something else far more important than their eternal squabble. Their heads turned in unison toward the window. A female was Rising.
King was the first to move, darting out the Infirmary window and speeding off to where he sensed the female heat. Prince was close behind him, spouting angry chatter at his brother. The noise shifted to low croons and appreciative whistles once they met up with Tess, darting around each other while vying for her attention. There might have been some shoving and nips to the other, but they were on their best behavior now...which wasn't actually saying much.

NPC Blue Bubble
The blue wheeled through the air, chittering in delight as the furry creature chased after him. He spun and twisted in the air, always out of the reach of the funny and very furry noise maker. Soon he plummeted out of the sky to land on the creature, nearly tumbling off as he clutched the fur to keep from falling. The creature twisted itself in an odd angle to lick at the small blue firelizard. The blue would have licked the creature back, but he had learned quite a long time ago that if he did so than he would end up with fur in his mouth and fur wasn't tasty at all.
His was very patient with him usually, the blue was far from the perfect pet after all. He was clumsy and definitely far from the brightest glow in the basket. He was a sweet little blue though, ever faithful and loyal. His bonded though seemed to be far from patient recently and he could not understand why he made such loud and aggravated noises at the blue. Had he done something wrong? Surely a good nuzzle and lick would make up for it? But no, he had been swatted at and sent outside to go play with other things. So he had been amusing himself with the companionship of the furry creature known as a canine.
The call arrived soon enough and Bubble's head sprang up. The furry noise maker underneath him also raised his head but merely to mimic the movement of his small blue friend. Bubble warbled a farewell to his canine friend and launched himself into the air, a pretty pretty green was calling and he wouldn't ignore her call! He spun through the air, circling for a bit and calling to the green before darting around the other male chasers, obliviously chittering happily to all of them. There would be a flight today! Were they excited? He was excited! Oh boy he hoped they were excited too for this pretty green.
Sneaky - October 11, 2011 02:09 AM (GMT)
Tess chirped and squealed her delight in all of the pretty males. Loopty loops and barrel rolls dotted her circling flight as she warmed her wings and limbered her body to ensure that this flight would be a quick but dangerous one. These males had better be up for one hell of a Flight. She was no easy prize. No sure-y!
Seeing a rat she plummeted and drank deeply of the blood, needing the extra energy for what would be her first and maiden flight. The rat screeched, still alive as she fed and dared to bite her nose of all things! She scored it deeply with her claws and took flight for the open sky above the Weyr.
The flight was on!
Her green wings flapped for all of their worth to try and gain a head start. Fly little Green! Fly! Fly! Let the best male win. Let the males try. Only Tess would choose the winner. She was no quitter!
[Okay. This flight is not going to last long but we need to at least reach 20 posts. Lets get this puppy on the road! You have until this friday (10/14/11) to post. Lets go!]

NPC Blue Bubble
Bubble rocketed after the green, beating his wings in a frenzy. The male surely hit himself a few times with his own wings but he cared little as he drove himself higher and higher after the green. Of course the male happily was flying near the other males and chittering to them as if it was just a casual game of tag rather than a flight. Really it wasn't like the blue knew much better, he wasn't the brightest and never would be. He liked the green though, she was certainly very pretty and fast! She was so fast! Maybe when this was over she would play with him! She seemed very nice indeed!

NPC Blue Twitter
As the green took off Twitter was quick to follow still trilling sweetly to her. She was so pretty. His wings beat quickly and steadily as he followed Tess. He was sure this wasn't going to be an easy flight to win but he had confidence in his abilities to keep up with her sharp turns. He kept one eye on the other chasers simply so he wouldn't crash into them. He was only worried about the other blue and that one didn't seem so bright. Maybe he had a chance at winning this. That was yet to be seen though.
