Part 1: Transparent Glass Button1. Open up a new document with a transparent background and make it 200x100.
2. Using the
Paint Bucket Tool fill the layer with the color white.
3. Make a new layer, then using the Rounded Rectange Tool make an oval shape just like in the picture.

4. Make a new layer, while the new layer is selected, using your mouse and keyboard,
Ctrl+Click the layer called
Shape 1. You will see the shape of the oval with little little ants running around (lol

).
5. Fill that little shape with the color back and lower the
Fill to 0% and delete the layer called
Shape 1.
6. Right click on the Layer 2 (the oval layer) and click on
Blending Options and have the settings just like in the picture.


Stroke: This is optional. I have never used stroke when creating transparent glass buttons. 
7. Now you should have something like this.

Part 2: Glass Tinting (Optional) 8. If you want to tint your glass with a color of your choice just like the one in the picture then follow these directions.
9. Right click on the Glass layer and click on
Blending Options and have the settings just like in the picture.
Part 3: Special Effects (Text Underneath) (Optional) 10. If you want to learn how to add special effects to your text underneath the glass then follow these directions.

11. Ok type up the text you want and then put that text layer underneath the button layer. Then while the text layer is selected, using your mouse and keyboard,
Ctrl+Click the button layer. You will see the shape of the oval with little little ants running around (lol

).
12. Go to Filter>>>Distort>>>Spherize and have these settings.

(You may choose your own settings in order to fit your needs.)

13. Now right click on the button layer and click on
Blending Options and click on
Drop Shadow. Change the
Distance to
7.
