Clan Name: Kouboku
Village: Kirigakure
Physical Traits: Normally, the Kouboku are a sturdily-built, slightly short people. They are not overly muscled, but are not by any means thin either. It is not unusual for clan member to be overweight.
That barely even scratches the surface, however. Every clan member has a bit of chlorophyll in their cells, giving their skin a greenish tinge that varies in tint from person to person. Furthermore, eight large coleus-like leaves that are anywhere from four and a half to six inches long sprout from around the neck in all eight cardinal directions. Their colors, patterns, and shape vary widely, almost like a clan-specific fingerprint. The lower the Kouboku's chakra level, the more wilted the leaves become; upon death, the leaves die too. An insanely fragrant odor emanates from under these leaves, hence the clan's name.
Another abnormality of the clan is their chakra system. It is more concentrated around the wrists, and for a good reason; each clan member has the ability to grow either a dense patch of small, inch-long, dark-green leaves or a dense patch of pine needles from their wrists. The system doesn't circulate normal chakra either. A Kouboku's chakra is the kind used by the almost-forgotten Grass shinobi to create and accelerate plant life. To one that can see chakra, such as a Hyuuga, their chakra appears a light shade of green instead of the usual blue.
Clan Description: The Kouboku are a somewhat reclusive clan that reside in the pine forests of the Water Country. They still serve the village though, and are known for their fierce loyalty to the country. They are considered by most to be weaker than other clans such as the Chinoumi and the famed Hyouketsu, mostly due to their fighting style. The clan, instead of taking out opponents in one fell swoop, focuses on patience and defense. Their ninjutsu normally have the theme of doing little bits of damage over a long period of time and waiting out their opponents. The clan holds Kirigakure's record for the longest shinobi versus shinobi battle as well. The clan is also known for its heartiness. No matter the situation, a Kouboku normally will preservere and be, as a whole, unaffected.
When the clan member is one year old, a ritual is performed on them to plant the eight seeds around their neck. The child's neck is slit and the 1.5mm long seeds are placed under the skin. They react to the child's own chakra flow, and begin to sprout. The usual time for them to grow is about two years, and the clan also uses this as an indicator of the maturity of the child's chakra system. Once the leaves are fully grown, they are taught how to use this ability to grow plant material out of their wrists. When this skill is mastered to the point where the foliage cannot be tracked by a normal human eye as it grows, the clan member is considered an adult.
Clan History: The Kouboku clan was originally a nomadic tribe of herbal healers that used chakra to treat people's wounds. They lived as a peaceful society, and were respected by almost everyone. Then, the dark ages came to the peaceful clan with the advent of the shinobi. The clan went off to train and use their gift of accelerating plant growth to harm others, a taboo of the clan at the time.
The clan eventually split into two parts, those that wished to remain nomadic, and those that wished to use their gifts for offensive purposes. Quite suprisingly, as history can tell, a civil war did not break out within the clan, and eventually the nomadic branch faded into oblivion. It wasn't until Kirigakure was founded that the clan took another great step in their development.
It was around the time of the First Secret World War. The Mist was in need of more power, and the only clan who was lacking was the "neo-nomads." One brilliant researcher, Jinjuu Muruka, found that they had been gifted naturally with the chakra of life. He planted eight seeds under his skin in a hope to get them to grow. The seeds would provide an excellent medium for some of the early prototypes of their jutsu. These leaves had an astounding reaction on his body though. Chlorophyll leaked through his cells, and some of the areas around his wrists had began to actually support plant life in a form of chakra hydroponics. The leaves, in reponse to the chakra, began to have a fragrance about them that led the clan to be renamed Kouboku, the Fragrant Wood. Naturally, the rest of the clan wanted to do this, so Muruka agreed. Unfortunately, the jutsu weren't developed fast enough for any help to be given to Mist in the War.
In the peace that followed, the clan's techniques were refined. Prodigious members figured out the secret to maintaining various types of flora on their wrists. The traits of the leaves began to be passed on to offspring of the clan, and they began to be born green. Also, during this time of peace, a new leader was appointed, and he just so happened to be a great martial arts master who had studied the clan's roots. It was he who first delevoped the methods of the Kouhaken.
Now the Second Secret World War had erupted, and with it new influences upon the clan. In a skirmish with Leaf ninja, one of the Kouboku had ran into an Akimichi. This person had roughly the same style that he did, but with subtle differences. The battle ended in a large-scale retreat, but the man brought a powerful influence back to his home. The leader readily adopted it, and used it to reform and complete the taijutsu style he had worked for so long on.
Now the clan is living all over the Water Country, but with the highest concentration residing in Kirigakure. They are active in the village, and using new influences, making the tree of their clan grow towards the sky. *wipes eyes*
Bloodline: As previously stated, a Kouboku's chakra is the same type that foster's life in wood element justu. They have the ability to grow and control foliage from their wrists, and in higher level jutsu, the ability to control other plant life as well, even healing it instantaneously. The clan can acually use photosynthesis to create food for themselves, though not enough to indefinitely sustain life and definitely not enough to have any bearing on a shinobi battle. This makes them one of the most hearty clans in the whole of Kirigakure, if not the world. Furthermore, if a limb somehow becomes detached, but the shinobi gets medical attention and doesn't bleed to death, the limb will eventually regrow of its own accord, though it takes about a year to happen. Finally, the clan, being made up of a bit of plant matter, takes 1.5 damage from lightning and fire jutsu, but only .5 from water.
Clan Techniques:
~|ACADEMY|~
Carpal Flora; Pine Needles [Wankotsu Shukubutsushi; Matsuba]
With a little concentration, the user grows pine needles up to three inches long out of his or her wrists in a dense, inch-wide band. The user has full control over the needles just as if they were connected to an individual muscle. They have nearly a full range of motion as well. | Chakra- 3 per post | Academy | Doesn't count toward the one jutsu per post rule. Requires no hand seals.
Carpal Flora; Leaves [Wankotsu Shokubutsushi; Konoha]
With a little concentration, the user grows 1" by 1/2" leaves out of his or her wrists in a dense, inch-wide band. The user has full control over the leaves just as if they were connected to an individual muscle. They have nearly a full range of motion as well, though not to the extent the needles do. The user normally keeps the leaves limp. | Chakra- 3 per post | Academy | Doesn't count toward the one jutsu per post rule. Requires no hand seals.
Aromatic Allure [Houkouzai Mibae]
Every member of the clans has large neck-leaves, which have an almost irresitably sweet aroma. Anyone who stands within two feet of the Kouboku will smell this aroma, and it will overload the senses with olfactory pleasure. If they are not within two feet, the Kouboku can force a blast of chakra through the leaves that will scatter the scent, effectively increasing the range to seven feet. To an untrained shinobi, the scent will distract them from the battle, giving the clan member valuable time. Odds are it won't affect a Jounin though, unless the Jounin is an Inuzuka. | Passive | Academy | Requires no hand seals and doesn't count toward the one jutsu per post rule. 5 Chakra can be used to increase the range from 2 to 7 feet for three posts in which case it does count as a jutsu. Takes no jutsu points.
Accelerated Photosynthesis [Koushin Kougousei]
The user concentrates to heighten the flow of chakra all over his or her body. This stimulates the chloroplasts in the Kouboku's cells to hasten the process of photosynthesis. It works to such a degree that it can rapidly heal small wounds, however, it puts a strain on the organelles, so it can only be used every other post. | Chakra- 4 (Inc5) | Healed Damage- 2 (Inc5) | Academy | Requires no hand seals, but can only be used every other post.
~|GENIN|~
Pine Spike Technique [Matsu Kasui no Jutsu]
The user forms a short series of seals, and then focuses that chakra to his or her wrists. Instantly, two of the pine needles harden and shoot out to about two feet in length. The speed of the growth makes the needles, in essense, a harpoon. This lasts for about three seconds before returning to its original form. | Chakra- 10 | Damage- 12 | Genin | Carpal Flora; Pine Needles must be active.
Partial Leaf Armor Skill [Fuzen Konoha Yoroi no Jutsu]
The user forms a short series of seals, and then focuses that chakra into his or her wrists. The leaves begin to wrap around the forearm in a gentle spiral, budding to make new leaves and hardening along the way. Once they reach the elbow, they are as hard as steel, making for a nice bit of armor. Unless chakra is used to keep it up, the leaves return to normal in a post. The leaves do not regain HP if extra chakra is used. | Chakra- 7 per post | HP- 25 per arm | Genin | Carpal Flora; Leaves must be active.
Mezmerizing Petal [Uttorisaseru Hanabira]
The user forms a few seals, and then focuses his or her chakra. In the opponent's mind, the user makes a beautiful, large flower grow at an exceedingly fast rate. The flower appears to glow, and it is of the most beautiful color red. The flower draws the opponent to it, and is extrememly mezmerizing. It will cause the opponent to become distracted from the battle at hand, and only make them stare with absent wonder at the plant. | Chakra- 15 | Genin | 5 Intelligence needed to break free.
~|CHUUNIN|~
Pine Staff Skill [Matsu Buin no Jutsu]
After forming a longer line of seals, the user focuses chakra into one pine needle on their wrist. Its growth is hyper-accelerated, and also hardened. The needle grows to a length of about five feet, at which point it detaches from the wrist for use as a surrogate bo staff with sharp ends. | Chakra- 30 | Damage- 5+(.5 Strength) | Chuunin | Carpal Flora; Pine Needles must be active.
Pine Needle Grenade Technique [Matsuba Metsubishi no Jutsu]
The user forms a longer line of seals and, as usual, focuses the accumulated chakra to his or her wrists. The needles harden and sharpen on their wrists and begin to clump together into a spiky ball with a core of chakra. The user then throws this ball at an opponent. A few seconds later, the chakra core will explode, sending needles in every direction. | Chakra- 20 (Inc4) | Damage- 20 | Chuunin | Carpal Flora; Pine Needles must be active. Increment determines the number of balls created.
Wood Spear Techinque [Ki Yari no Jutsu]
A longer string of hand seals yeilds a more advanced technique, in this case, the ability to accelerate plant growth outside of the Kouboku's body. After said seals, the user touches either the ground or some source of wood. Almost instantly, a sharp, meter-long tree branch shoots upward. On the ground the branch can be conjured up to a foot away, but if a source of wood is contacted, the user can make the branch impale its target from anywhere on that source of wood. (i.e. If a nin in a tree touched the tree, they could make it shoot out of its roots.) The branch doesn't recede after the technique is used. | Chakra- 25 (Inc3) | Damage- 20 | Chuunin | Increment determines number of spears.
Pine Branch Technique [Matsu Eda no Jutsu]
After a longer string of seals, the user focuses on the pine needles on his or her wrists. The Kouboku can then make the entire patch of foliage burst outwards one foot from their starting point and get harder and sharper. Now the user's punches will pierce the opponent many, many times instead of causing a bruise or two. | Chakra- 20 | Damage- 10(.5 Strength) | Advanced Chuunin | Lasts three posts. Carpal Flora; Pine Needles must be active.
Leaf Armor Skill [Konoha Yoroi no Jutsu]
After forming a longer set of seals, the user focuses his or her chakra on the leaves on their body. The leaves on the neck and wrists grow and harden to cover the body like a fully functional suit of medieval armor. Unlike most of the other armor techniques, the leaves retain their breathability, so the user doesn't overheat, but at the price of a bit of durability. The armor halves damage from water jutsu, but takes double damage from katon. Tai- and kenjutsu are as effective as if they hit chain mail. The same rules that appered on the partial armor skill apply. | Chakra- 15 per post | HP- 35 | Chuunin | Carpal Flora; Leaves must be active.
Leaf Binding Skill [Konoha Hagaijime no Jutsu]
The user forms a longer string of seals, and focuses the chakra to the leaves on their wrists. They then grapple with the opponent. Once they have a hold on them, the leaves grow onto the opponent's body using the same budding/hardening method seen in the Partial Leaf Armor Skill. The leaves emit chakra on their undersides that cause them to squeeze onto the opponent, as well as a chakra that holds them together on their top sides. If the leaves are left on, eventually they will cause to victim to die of suffocation, though that is rare. After one post, the leaves cover 1.5 feet from their point(s) of contact. The second post they cover 3 feet; the third post they cover the entire body excluding the head. On the fifth post, the opponent begins to feel lightheaded due to lack of oxygen, the leaves also cover the nose and mouth in order to begin to kill. The seventh post causes unconsciousness, and if it is held long enough, the tenth post heralds death. | Chakra- 25 per post | Advanced Chuunin | Carpal Flora; Leaves must be active, and the opponent's permission must be gotten before reaching the seventh post.
Desert Planting [Arano Hashu]
The user forms a longer line of seals, and then casts the genjutsu. Once affected, the victim will feel as though they are rooted to the ground like a plant. Also, a sub illusion makes them think that water is being sucked from their bodies. They begin to suffer from extreme thirst, and may eventually start to hallucinate as their mind tricks itself into thinking that there isn't enough water to properly relay nerve impulses. | Chakra- 25 | Chuunin | Can be broken out of by traditional methods as well as having 5 or more intelligence.
~|JOUNIN|~
Floral Transmutation Skill; Poison [Sokubutshshi Hen'i no Jutsu; Doku]
The user forms a line of diverse seals and focuses the chakra to their wrists. This particular chakra is the exact opposite of what their body normally produces. Meaning, instead of creating and nurturing life, the chakra transforms the foliage into agents of poison. One struck with a poisoned leaf or needle will first begin to feel nauseated, then incredibly weak. Next, all motor skills are inhibited, and finally they begin to rot. The speed of the poison is determined by how much poison is in the body. For insance, if one leaf is stuck in them, a person might only feel a bit sick, like they have a cold. If enough needles are in them so that they are about to die from being hit so many times, they will rot. | Chakra- 35 | Jounin | If the user changes the type of vegetation on their wrists, the skill is ended.
Wood Ram Technique [Ki Ohitsuji no Jutsu]
The Kouboku now begins to vary their handseals to better focus their chakra. After forming one such strand, they focus their chakra and touch either the ground or a source of wood. A 1.5' wide, tapered, blunt log grows close to instantaneously at great speed to five feet in height and slams into the opponent like a battering ram. The user can make this log grow up to five feet away from themselves if they touched the ground, but if they touched a source of wood, they can make it appear anywhere on that source of wood. The log doesn't recede after use. | Chakra- 40 (Inc5) | Damage- 35 | Jounin | Inc determines number of spears.
Pine Needle Spray Technique[Matsuba Funsha no Jutsu]
After forming a of diverse seals, the user focuses the chakra to their wrists where the Pine Branch Technique is active. This chakra propels all of the spikes forward, making the user's hand(s) turn into a cannon of vegetation. The direction after launch cannot be controlled. | Chakra- 20 per hand | Damage- 30 per hand | Jounin | Pine Branch Technique must be active, as well as Carpal Flora; Pine Needles.
Leaf Sword Technique [Konoha Ittou no Jutsu]
The user forms a diverse set of seals, and then focuses the chakra to the leaves on their wrists. The leaves undergo the same bud, harden, sharpen procedure as before, but instead they make a sword. The leaves grow around the top of the hand and over the non-thumb part of the palm before turning and growning through thin air out of the left or right side of the hand (from an entended fist). Once they reach the peak of the blade, which is about 3' long and 2" wide with a curve of 2.5", they sharpen toward the cutting side. They also turn as hard as steel. | Chakra- 30 per blade | Damage- 9+.5 Strength | Jounin | Blades last 5 posts. Carpal Flora; Leaves must be active.
Forest Sight Skill [Mori Kankouchi no Jutsu]
After forming along set of seals, the user closes his or her eyes and makes contact with a living tree in a forest. They draw upon the unified nature of the forest to allowing every tree in a mile-long radius to 'see' for them. Meaning, they are aware of everything that moves within that one mile radius. This technique requires the upmost concentration, so it can only be used out of battle. | Chakra- 45 | Jounin | Non-battle skill.
Forest Instantaneous Body Skill [Mori Shunshin no Jutsu]
After another set of diverse seals, the user focuses his or her chakra and touches a tree in a forest. They will then be sucked inside at a medium pace. From here, all the ninja needs to do is concentrate on a tree they they know the location of, and they will be transported there using the unified nature of a forest. The user can only travel up to two miles away with this jutsu. | Chakra- 50 | Advanced Jounin
Blinding Leaf Gale [Genwaku Konoha Boufuu]
The user forms diverse seals and casts the genjutsu. Once affected, the opponent will feel fierce wind blow against them, and it will be ridden with innumerable leaves. The pecularity of this is that every of these leaves seems to want to make itself into a makeshift blindfold for the opponent. Most people will try to grasp at the leaves to tear them off, and as an added realism, they come off. However, more leaves just replace them. The victim has the choice of either being blind, wasting energy clawing at leaves that just replace themselves, or realizing it is a genjutsu (pretty hard to do normally due to the fact that the leaves come off.) | Chakra- 35 | Jounin
~|SPECIAL JOUNIN|~
Magnetic Pine Needle Technique [Magunechikku Matsuba no Jutsu]
The user forms a long line of diverse seals and then focuses the chakra into a lone pine needle. The needle gets hardened and sharpened, and coated with a dense layer of chakra that is the polar opposite of all the other Kouboku clan needle skills. When the needle is shot at an opponent, any pine needles of the user's laying on the ground that were used for a projectile technique are picked up and follow after the needle. The needles will be attracted as if by a magnet if they are anywhere within fifty feet of the needle, and can travel very fast. | Chakra- 50 | Damage- The sum of the damage of all the projectile pine needle jutsu used within the last ten of the user's posts divided by two | Special Jounin | Carpal Flora; Pine Needles must be active. As an example, if Matsu Ame and Matsuba Funsha were used two posts ago, the equation would go like this. (70+30)/2=50
Pine Rain Technique [Matsu Ame no Jutsu]
The user forms a long line of diverse seals in order to perform this advancement of the Matsuba Funsha. Chakra is focused to both of their wrists to further accelerate the growth of the needles while also creating the "explosion" of chakra necessary to shoot the needles. The result of these advanced modifications is a continous barrage of hardened, sharpened pine neeles that most opponents would have a hard time evading. | Chakra- 50 per post | Damage- 70 | Special Jounin | Matsu Eda no Jutsu must be active.
Chakra Syringe Technique [Chakra Chuushaki no Jutsu]
The user forms a very long and diverse set of seals before focusing the chakra to his or her wrists. They make one pine needle grow sharp and hard, as well as allowing extra chakra to wash over it. The user then stabs the opponent with one of these three-inch needles. The needles, due to the extra chakra, begin to drain the opponents chakra away into the body of the user at an alarming rate. The disadvantage to this is that anyone who possesses a brain can find a way to get the user off of them before they die. | Chakra- 25 per post | Damage- 4 | Chakra Damage- 40 per post | Special Jounin | Carpal Flora; Pine Needles must be active.
Phantom Leaf of Assassination Technique [Gen' ei Konoha Hitokiri no Jutsu]
The first of the clan's truly harmful justu. After forming a diverse set of seals, the user focuses it to his wrist to harden and sharpen one leaf. Next, the user makes a throwing motion as if they had a shuriken. During this motion, chakra is used to propel the leaf forward at blinding speed. Due to its velocity, the leaf punctures much more deeply and forcefully than a regular shuriken, often having the ability to cut and break bone and/or hit deep internal organs. Its namesake comes from the fact that most opponents never see the leaf hit or find it because it loses itself in their flesh. | Chakra- 50 | Damage- 50 | Special Jounin | Carpal Flora; Leaves must be active.
Leaf Tempest Technique [Konoha Arashi no Jutsu]
One of only three jutsu that the Kouboku clan can say decidedly pack a punch worth avoiding. The user forms a long line of diverse seals and then touches a tree. The chakra surges through the tree and every leaf and/or needle on it gets hardened, sharpened, and blown off the branch. Using more chakra, the user guides the fast-moving vegetation toward the intended target. Once there, they sweep the wave into a vortex around the user, making all the hard, high-velocity pieces of vegetation scrape and cut the opponent continuously while they are nearly immobile in the chakra-induced winds. Danger of death is low since the leaves are not extremely sharp and only lightly cut up to 3/4 of an inch deep, but this is not the most fun technique to get caught up in. | Chakra- 135 | Damage-175 | Special Jounin
Leaf Explosion Technique [Konoha Sakuretsu no Jutsu]
Another of the three most powerful techniques in the clan. The user forms a long line of diverse seals and touches a tree. Their chakra washes over every leaf of the tree, making them explosive. Another, much smaller wave of chakra is used to make them detonate. This is truly a sight to be seen. In actuality, each leaf/needle is a mini explosive tag. When all of the leaves detonate at the same time, the entire top of the tree explodes. Anyone unfortuante enough to be in the center of this explosion needs to find a medic nin quickly. Also, not many use this technique due to its risk to the user. They must remain in contact with the tree they touch until the final wave of chakra is used, leaving them only a few tenths of a second to get out of the blast. Getting hit by the shockwave and shrapnel is almost guaranteed. | Chakra- 100 + 35 to detonate | Self Damage- 60 | Damage- 250 | Advanced Special Jounin
Aromatic Absence [Houkouzai Kesseki]
The user forms a long line of diverse seals and casts the genjutsu, using their fragrance as a catalyst. An illusion is cast making the opponent's sense of smell more acute, about as much as a dog's. Also, the illusion makes the mind more likely to induce hallucinations upon itself. When the incredibly fragrant aroma is sniffed by the opponent, their body is overwhelmed by the sensation. In their state of ecstacy, the victim's mind will wander through series of hallucinations, usually pleasant. As a side effect, the smell is so strong to them that they no longer register pain. Meanwhile, trapped in their own mind, the victim stands in a daze. Their eyes are dull, almost as if they are no longer in their body. When the affected "comes back," they will feel all the pain inflicted upon them. Every technique has a downfall, however, and this one is no different. If the affected somehow gets (usually by an overzealous attack by the user) 20 feet or more away from the user, the fragrance will no longer be there and the genjutsu is broken. Also, if the three posts that the illusion lasts are not up and this happens, the victim is stuck with their enhanced smell for the remainder of the time, a bonus indeed (If the user comes back within ten feet of the user, they will once again slip into the illusion, though) | Chakra- 55 | Special Jounin | Must be in range of Aromatic Allure.
~|S-RANK|~
Forest of Spears Technique [Yari Mori no Jutsu]
The ultimate ninjutsu of the Kouboku clan. The user now forms an ungodly amount of seals. They focus their chakra and then slam a palm into the ground, sending out a powerful wave of chakra. A split second later, extremely sharp-pointed tree branches rocket up through the ground at various angles anywhere from two to ten feet away from the user, and grow to be about 60 feet tall. This jutsu creates a thick forest one mile in diameter full of tree "spears." If this not enough to either maim or kill the opponent, all the resulting wood puts any Wood Element user at an advantage. For a comparison, this behaves much like the Kaguya's Dance of the Seedling Ferns. | Chakra- 250 | Damage- 300 | S-Rank
Death of the Forest Spirit [Kisei no Mori Kon]
The user forms another extremely long line of hand seals before casting the most powerful genjutsu of the clan. The opponent is placed in a drear forest that is suprisingly thick. It is full of narrow paths. The trees are dead and twisted. Branches now resemble claws. On a few of the largest trees, the opponent's loved ones are impaled, being killed in unspeakable ways. Eventually, the victim reaches a grove of sorts in their mental wandering, and there a large tree resides. On this tree they are pinned and slowly killed in the same manner as their loved ones. Seeing this is enough to cause extreme mental trauma, as well as chakra loss. Also, the user isn't in this world, so it gives another a free chance to attack. The user must remain in deep concentration for this to work properly however, so he or she cannot attack. | Chakra- 100 | Chakra Damage- 60 per turn | S-Rank | Lasts 3 posts.
~|TAIJUTSU STYLE|~
BONUSES STACK
Stalwart Fist Style [Kouhaken]
The old clan style, after being influenced by the Akimichi clan's Tadaikon, as evolved into the new style, Kouhaken. The basic idea of the style is to withstand anything, literally becoming a wall of flesh. To accomplish this goal, harsh endurance training and strong stances are used. Often a practitioner is seriously maimed in the process of this training... The basic stance is created by placing the feet directly below the shoulders and the arms in a tight guard. The practitioner can take blows all day long and not budge an inch this way. Training includes carrying heavy loads up steep slopes, purposely getting bludgeoned, and, eventually, stopping a train.
Stalwart Fist; Stage One [Kouhaken; Dakai Ichi]
The user starts recieving private instruction (or on a team if the sensei is a Kouboku) after they are deemed worthy of becoming a ninja. They start by getting taught the basic stances and how to properly block an attack. Also, they are instructed on the importance of their center of gravity and how to maintain their rooting even while attacking. They begin to carry large loads up steep hills in order to build muscle, build endurance, and maintain their balance on rough terrain. Also, they are subjected to harsh sparring exercises in order to toughen them up and heighten their tolerance for pain. | +2 Strength +1 Endurance (+15 HP) | Genin | When blocking attacks, the user can add 1/2 of their Strength to Endurance, though no HP bonus is granted.
Stalwart Fist; Stage Two [Kouhaken; Dakai Ni
The practitioner has now gotten used to the basics of the style, and no longer need to be corrected when it comes to proper stance. They now train exclusively with a partner, building both strength and endurance. In addition to this style of training, a practitioner may chose to train by revisiting the rock lifting exercise from the previous stage, except with twice the load. Finally, they work on polishing up their blocks. | +1 Strength +2 Endurance (+30 HP | Chuunin | When blocking attacks, the user can add 3/4 of their Strength to Endurance, though no HP bonus is granted.
Stalwart Fist; Stage Three [Kouhaken; Dakai San]
The practitioner has now reached a level that poses a threat to even their sensei. They are able to stay rooted to the ground in solid, perfect stances while blocking attacks with perfect blocks. For training, the style borrows a page straight from the Tadaikon. They get someone to pummel them into the ground in order to build resestance to pain and thus making their endurance skyrocket. | +3 Endurance (+45 HP) | Jounin | When blocking attacks, the user can add their Strength to Endurance, though no HP bonus is granted.
Stalwart Fist; Stage Four [Kouhaken; Dakai Yon]
The practitioner has now almost reached the top of the figurative ladder of the style. They stay rooted in place until they want to move, intercepting every attack thrown at them with rock-hard blocks. They are now capable of teaching the art to others. Finally, they have mastered the art of attacking while blocking with no risk of their stance breaking. There is still a little way to go, though, so training includes the usual sparring-endurance training combo exercise. Also, the practitioner learns to intercept attacks and then counter at clsoe range, so they move slower in combat. | +1 Strength +3 Endurance (+45 HP) -1 Agility | Special Jounin | When blocking attacks, the user can add 1 1/2 times their Strength to Endurance, though no HP bonus is granted.
Stalwart Fist; Stage Five [Kouhaken; Dakai Go]
The pinnacle of the Kouhaken. For lack of a better comparison, everything is perfect. It would take an incredibly massive force for them to move, and an incredibly painful attack to make them truly hurt. If the blocks were rock-hard in the last stage, now they are as hard as diamond. It is not unusual for the sttacker to end up hurting themselves while trying to harm them. They perfect their philosophy of waiting for harm to come to them, and even extend it into their everyday life. Also, the final test of their strength is at hand. The practitioner spends exactly one year preparing for it, building their strength and endurance to even higher levels. When their time is up, they stand on abandoned railroad tracks. A locomotive is sent at them, and they are entrusted to stopping it. If they succeed, they are heralded as true masters of the art, if they fail, then there isn't enough of them left to fill a coffin. | +2 Strength +3 Endurance (+45 HP) -2 Agility | S-Rank | When blocking attacks, the user can add 2 times their Strength to Endurance, though no HP bonus is granted.
Total Bonuses:
+6 Strength
+12 Endurance (+180 HP)
-3 Agility

-I dunno why it's "per post" since I can't really see em like, retracting into the user's body if they don't pay, but... eh. It's fine never-the-less.
-Same as above.
-"Pleasure" eh? What a sexy jutsu. S'fine by me.
-Considering the draw-back, this is just perfect for an Academy level jutsu.
-So they shoot off like teh missiles, and expand like teh male sex organ? Cool. I think it might be just a tad too powerful for a Genin jutsu, but maybe that's just me.
-Leaf shield is teh cool. S'fine as far as I can tell, though the other mods might tell you to lower it to like, 20 HP or something, which I can see happening.
| Chakra- 15 | Genin
-You might want to add some sort of requirement to break out of this one. I dunno, like, an Intelligence/Endurance of 5 or more being required to break out of it. That's my only problem with it. Otherwise, this trippy tech is fine.
-I'll assume it doesn't have a time limited use, and that the damage is applied per hit with it... I guess it's fine. Personally, I think 30 Chakra is a bit too much for a meager weapon like that, but that might just be me. Maybe 20-25...
-What a sexy jutsu. Needle grenades are always cool in my book. S'fine.
-Hm, instant jutsu from below. I'm fine with it, though you may want to lower the damage just a bit. It's pretty hard to dodge something like that unless you know it's coming, after all. Otherwise, it's cool.
| Chakra- 15 | Damage- 10(.5 Strength) | Advanced Chuunin | Lasts three posts. Carpal Flora; Pine Needles must be active.
-This one could should probably be like, 20-25 chakra at least, considering you could probably throw off a whole lot of punches in three posts.
-Eh... this one is sort've iffy for me. As long as Tai/Kenjutsu still deal damage to the armour's HP, it'll be fine by me.
-Woahz, serious technique. Well, it's Advanced, and it's got the whole permission thing going on, and that's if they can even pay that much chakra. I'm fine with it.
-I'm not that great with genjutsu, but I can't see anything immediately wrong with this one...
~|JOUNIN|~
Floral Transmutation Skill; Poison [Jeffrey'sisn'tworking no Jutsu; Doku]
The user forms a line of diverse seals and focuses the chakra to their wrists. This particular chakra is the exact opposite of what their body normally produces. Meaning, instead of creating and nurturing life, the chakra transforms the foliage into agents of poison. One struck with a poisoned leaf or needle will first begin to feel nauseated, then incredibly weak. Next, all motor skills are inhibited, and finally they begin to rot. The speed of the poison is determined by how much poison is in the body. | Chakra- 35 | Jounin | If the user changes the type of vegetation on their wrists, the skill is ended.
-This seems a bit... overpowered, but that could be me. This needs to (probably) have a a quite-a-bit higher chakra cost, as well as be elaborated upon further. I'd personally like to know about how long it lasts, what the actual stages in post-form are, and other such things. Nice title, btw. Try googling Freedict.
-Hm. I don't really have qualms with this, though I can see why other mods might. Regardless, s'fine by me.
-Flying needlez of deathz. S'fine by me dood.
| Chakra- 30 per blade | Damage- 6+.5 Strength | Jounin | Blades last 5 posts. Carpal Flora; Leaves must be active.
-Personally, I think that you could increase the damage it does to like, 10+1/2 Strength, but that could just be me. Otherwise, s'fine by me.
-THE TREES HAVE EYES ZOMG. Heh, s'fine by me.
-Tree jumping takes an interesting twist. I think you could decrease the chakra cost a little, but eh, s'fine by me.
-Woah, that's annoying. S'fine by me.
-Woah, this is a real creative jutsu. I like it, so yeah, s'fine by me. Maybe a few less posts (like 5 or something), but that could just be me.
-Me likes barrages of needles. S'fine by me.
-Wait... "Damage- 4" and "Damage-40 per post"? I think I know what you mean, but perhaps you should fix that.
-Assassination via leaves. Sexy. You could increase the damage just a bit I think, but eh, s'fine by me.
-No problems with this one.
-Woah, sexy. With the self-damage there, it's fine by me, though this one is sorta iffy.
-Woah... maybe increase the chakra cost some more, since I can see this being abused, but otherwise, it's fine by me.
-If it doesn't kill ya, the advantage the user gets from it sure will. Nice. S'fine by me.
-Hm... I like it. S'fine by me.
-3 Agility
-All the taijutsu sort've break the 3 slots rule, but seeing as extra Endurance that doesn't give extra HP is, as far as I can tell, useless, it's fine by me.

-I dunno why it's "per post" since I can't really see em like, retracting into the user's body if they don't pay, but... eh. It's fine never-the-less.
-Same as above.
-"Pleasure" eh? What a sexy jutsu. S'fine by me.
-Considering the draw-back, this is just perfect for an Academy level jutsu.
-So they shoot off like teh missiles, and expand like teh male sex organ? Cool. I think it might be just a tad too powerful for a Genin jutsu, but maybe that's just me.
-Leaf shield is teh cool. S'fine as far as I can tell, though the other mods might tell you to lower it to like, 20 HP or something, which I can see happening.
| Chakra- 15 | Genin
-You might want to add some sort of requirement to break out of this one. I dunno, like, an Intelligence/Endurance of 5 or more being required to break out of it. That's my only problem with it. Otherwise, this trippy tech is fine.
-Hm, instant jutsu from below. I'm fine with it, though you may want to lower the damage just a bit. It's pretty hard to dodge something like that unless you know it's coming, after all. Otherwise, it's cool.
The Rain Spike does the same thing, only less damage, and it is a genin tech. Wow, that sounded ********y
Considering the style no, but considering others' misinterpretations of the style, yes. *changes*
-Eh... this one is sort've iffy for me. As long as Tai/Kenjutsu still deal damage to the armour's HP, it'll be fine by me.
If a sword strikes armor, it still dents, no? I'd hate to imagine Gai facing a European knight...
Hehe, I forgot about that... Freedict doesn't tell you crap, literally. I know know Transmutation=Hen'i though. I'll give it further description too, b/c I concur.
Swee, *increases*
-Woah, this is a real creative jutsu. I like it, so yeah, s'fine by me. Maybe a few less posts (like 5 or something), but that could just be me.
I originally had it at 7 posts, but that made it a bit underpowered for a Sp.Jounin tech IMO. I'll change it if you really want me to though. Oh, and credit to Nosu or Exi on this one too.
-Assassination via leaves. Sexy. You could increase the damage just a bit I think, but eh, s'fine by me.
A bullet doesn't cause that much damage, but it will still kill you. I've always thought of damage as "hurts to the body."
| Lasts 3 posts
-Woah... maybe increase the chakra cost some more, since I can see this being abused, but otherwise, it's fine by me.
Hehe, I kinda forgot to add the LASTS 3 POSTS thing in there. I think that should balance it though.
-3 Agility
-All the taijutsu sort've break the 3 slots rule, but seeing as extra Endurance that doesn't give extra HP is, as far as I can tell, useless, it's fine by me.
Ah, but for RPing purposes it makes a world of difference. ;) How else would they stop a train?
