Okay folks, as to the Gold Thread;

On my next post, Malcolm will order all splices, save those captured, into a jet bound for Europe. The local firefight will draw attention from the local police, and we can't be around. From there we'll probably lick our wounds a little bit, and then likely stage a rescue, who knows.

The jet won't actually leave until we've had another full turn after my next post, so write accordingly.

Physical appearance: René is of fairly stocky build after his splicing procedure, yet he stills stands just over 5’8. He is strong but athletic considering his age and can keep up with the younger recruits with ease. Spliced with a mountain goat (to which he refers to as an “American beast of burden”), René has enhanced peripheral depth perception as well as excellent footing and balance on any surface. His eyes, deep brown, sport the square pupil that is common in ruminants and make his eyes appear black at times. He is covered in dense white fur which requires shaving for the summer so that he can wear his preferred choice of attire, a well tailored full suit, and not overheat. His thick wool undercoat, however, protects him from wind chill and his long, hollow outer layer of fur keeps him looking sleek, even when trimmed down.

Bio: René is better than you, and he won’t soon let you forget it. Arrogant, haughty, spoiled, and rude, René doesn’t seem to notice, or care, about his attitude. After serving several years in the French Army working in criminology to predict enemy tactics, René faked his death and spent the next several years erasing himself from existence. His reason? To work as a hitman-for-hire for the European Underground. With his wide array of skills and talents, he began to grow bored with military and civilian life and longed for a challenge, something that would keep him constantly on his toes. Working entirely for hire, René accumulated a large fortune with his abilities and was soon one of the elite forces in the Underground.
After forming just as many allies as enemies, René was living what he thought was the perfect life. With wine, women, song, and several bounties on his head and no one to fulfill them, René was finally content with his life.
One simple assassination mission changed his life. A sudden loss of vision nearly cost him his life and he quickly realized something was horribly wrong. René was diagnosed with advanced ocular cancer; treatable, but incurable.
Realizing that his life was falling apart, René slunk into solitude and seemed to disappear once again into the void. Years later with vision failing and depression setting in, René was contacted by Brewer, who expressed interest in hiring him after it took the company three years to track the Frenchman down. René was skeptical at first. Why would Brewer want an aging, blind man for their corporation with an expected lifespan of only two more years? That’s when Brewer made him the splice offer. In exchange for his services, they would cure his eye cancer with the advances they’d made with their genetic engineering technology.
René took it, but there was a catch; he only had two compatible animals to choose from. He was too anxious to be able to see again so he left the choice to Brewer. When he awoke as an American Mountain Goat he was severely disappointed at having to resort to an American animal to save his sight.
Nonetheless, René flourishes at Brewer. He is called on for many special, single-op assignments, and never disappoints his employers. However, his haughty attitude has never improved.

Description: This weapon is the weapon of choice for anti-terrorist groups around the world. The sound of the bolt sliding back upon firing the round is louder than the sound of the actual firing report, due to the in-built muzzle light/sound suppressor and the sub-sonic ammunition. The weapon itself has single fire, three round burst or fully automatic fire modes, capable of unloading its entire thirty round magazine in 2.5 seconds. This version of the weapon has an ACOG scope and a green dot laser sight for when accuracy is absolutely essential. The Titanium Jacketed Hollow Point ammunition allows for total devastation of an unarmoured target and the titanium construct of the round allows for more effectiveness (although the actual armour piercing capability varies from one armour to another) against a target wearing body armour.

Physical appearance: Kalasia is fairly short, standing at only 5’3” with a parade ground straight back and a dark foreboding look in her eyes, that really makes her not look friendly in the slightest. Actually, the same kinda holds true for her personality as well. With light hazel coloured eyes and military cut brown hair, she does not look like the type one wants to meets in a dark alley.

Bio: While officially, Kalasia doesn’t exist, and never has existed, a few people do remember her, and more still do actually see her, and address her by name. These are some of her closest friends, although the term ‘friend’ seems to change often for the one who does not exist. She speaks both Israeli and English without a hint of accent in either language.

The only two pieces of ID she has, is a military ID/driver’s license with a fake name, and an extensive fake background to go with it, and only when she heads to the office, and only ever when she arrives does she ever display it, her green security badge, for NSA’s Crypto City, giving her almost completely unrestricted access to the American’s secret intelligence base, and everything they know.

Born in Australia on the 12th of May, 1990 to an Israeli diplomat and an Australian secretary, she grew up hating her mother for everything it was worth. Their marriage was brief, yet at times, near violent and quite unstable. When things finally broke down beyond recovery, Kalasia’s father left Australia and moved back to Israel, and Kalasia went with him, being only 9 at the time.

Living in Israel drove hard to her the point that life was a bitch, and you’d better get used to it. At the age of twelve she watched her best friend get blown to pieces by a rocket fired by Hamas from the Gaza Strip. Psychotherapy followed, but it was hard to tell as to whether she really got over the sight. Following her years at high school, she joined the Israeli armed forces, and quickly demonstrated her prowess for intelligence operations and physical combat, and she was quickly pulled into Shin-Bet, Israeli Intelligence.

Working with Shin-Bet for a number of years, the United States took an interest in her skills, and offered an armed forces trade with Israel, one intelligence specialist for another. Only this was no mere transfer, as Kalasia were to discover. Upon arriving at Fort Mead in the United States by aircraft, she was brought to the NSA locale there, where they proceeded to destroy everything that had ever identified her, and ever would identify her. No record of her ever have being born was left.

Once thrown into the intelligence black hole, she was then told of why she was needed. PHYSINT, or Physical Intelligence, a joint NSA/CIA venture back to the world of classic espionage, intelligence and counter-intelligence, and this was now what she was a part of. Three years of special training by both CIA and NSA instructors, and she was put into active duty.

Regarding Emerald,
I believe we just need to reboot the thread entirely.

We could restart the current story, but I personally think it would be more fun to replay the "Rescue Team Chimera" storyline we lost on the shall-not-be named forum. The other option is to come up with a new story entirely, but I think I need to make this clear;

No training ops. Zero. Zip.
With our troubles in Gold with training, although it has yielded interesting plot twists, Training never goes as planned, and we often write corners that have to be corrected. Therefore, I say we stick only to active ops or downtime only.

Your thoughts?

I should also mention that on July 17th, I'm going to drop off the net for two weeks, for teacher school and after that I start up my new career, so I don't know what'll happen after that. I will have a net presence, just not near the hours I normally do. I will still be interested in roleplaying, but we'll have to see what sort of free time I've got then.
