Title: The Boondocks

Okay. I was never impressed by the comic strip, and after watching the pilot episode of this show, I remain unimpressed.
Let's broadcast racial statements against all races, in the name of cheap humor, throw in some political commentary, bash the current adminstration, and all for sub-par humor.
If I want political humor, I'll watch American Dad.

Eh, I really dont think its that bad. 1st episode, with the exception of the very first scene (and a few small scenes later on) was fairly dull. The second episode, not too much better. 3rd episode, better. 4th episode, best thus far. Show seems to be getting better; it has its moments. And the artwork in the show is pretty good. Chances are, I'll keep watching it.
Content wise, I dont have the problems with it you do. I think you take it a bit to seriously, thats all. But eh.

I wasn't impressed by the whole cliche that Standups like Dave Chappell and Carlos Mencia encourage, but I did like that 'Nigga moment' scene and the 'Ronald Reagan's the devil' conversation.

I don't even bother with the racism of it. I just like its humor that ties into real-life events.. "Anal-Rapage" episode. I thought that was funny. "I don't want to go to prison, I don't want to be ANALY RAPED! NOOOO!!!" *man dragged off*

Real-Life my ass. I hang out with black people all the time and I don't hear any racism.

Obviously, none of you are far enough in the South.

Do you hang out with ALL black people?

Or are these black people that live in the hood?
I've gotten to know all sorts of people because of helping my mom's work. We have plenty of projects and hoods in this area. And the people there have their own divisions of "good" and "bad." And there's a lot they just have to accept about their lives. Racism is still prevalent, though I always have a hard time believing that in this day and age it's there at all.
And despite it all, there're plenty of people in these squalid conditions willing to work to make it better, and they're succeeding.
Digressing.
To me, Boondocks is slightly less about racism in general. It's about being the only sane, rational person in a stupid, insane world. Racism is just a symptom.
And it makes for a damned funny show. :)

I love that show. I've never really been upset with comedic racism. I don't think its particularly funny, but it's their business, not mine.
I don't know why I find this show so funny, maybe because Sam Jackson guest starred and did the "What" speech.
"Don't tell my baby Jasmine! I don't want her to know that her daddy was somebody's bitch!"
::Huey hangs up the phone::
"Was that daddy? Is he ok?!"
"Your father wants you to know that he's nobody's bitch."

I'm not sure what it was, but I adored his expression when he said that.
It's weird how well the style is working for the show.

You don't want to know what they're gonna do to me in here!
They're gonna rape you. That's what they're gonna do.
