Title: Excel Saga
Description: Quack Experimental Anime!

I got the entire series box set and i hafta say, this is my all time favorite anime series. Its got everything; action, drama, and comedy. Much more comedy than the others. It stars Excel Excel, who is certifiably insane; Hyatt, a Martian princess who works with Excel at ACROSS; Lord Ilpalazzo, who is the leader of the Covert Group ACROSS bent on global conquest (but not that good at it); and Menchi, a dog Excel picked up whose only purpose is to be an emergency food supply if the need arises. Its full of satire aimed squarely at the medium its in (cartoons, japanese culture, etc) and it wouldnt hurt you to go check it out. Like now...c'mon, just do it!

I did it, and it was worth it. A little more info, every episode has a different theme: teen drama, sports, sci-fi, fan-service; Just to name a few. Hyatt dies, every episode, but she comes back. There is also a side-storyline about Pedro, whose only desire is to live with his "sexy wife".

Yeah, I'm in the process of getting it ( <_< ). I have the first 2 episodes done. Err...not 'done.' Umm...bought. Yeah, that's it.

And forget Pedro's story! Nabeshin's is so much better. Come on, he's wearing Lupin III's outfit! What could be cooler than that?!

I want to see this, if only for Pedro's sake.

Halfway through the first ep...THIS IS THE MOST RANDOM ANIME I HAVE EVER SEEN! And I have seen FLCL and Azumanga Daio.

Oh, 'tis just the tip of the iceberg friends, it gets muchmuchmuchmuch weirder.

Alright, I got to halfway through the 5th ep and I just got tired of it. It's too random and it doesn't really go anywhere. This is why FLCL worked at 6 episodes, it was short enough to be enetertaining but didn't get overdone. Azumanga Daioh kinda had this problem of not going anywhere too, though that show did have its moments, though I didn't watch all of that either.

I got the series at Otakon and I regret ever doing so. There's NO PLOT!!! FLCL at least had that, randomness aside. The show is just long strides of Excel talking nonsense very quickly, Hyatt dying, and them both saying "Hail Ilpallazzo!" If you think those are spoilers, GOOD! It's one more reason to not watch this

Yeah, FLCL was EXTREMELY wacky, but at least it followed some sort of plot...that and the soundtrack rocked.
