Title: Legion of Superheroes
Description: The New Kids in Town
VincentX - December 17, 2007 07:02 AM (GMT)
Legion of Superheroes is the spiritual successor to Justice League Unlimited, though without the brilliance of Bruce Timm.
That being said, it is an excellent show that has completed a first season and is halfway through a very dark second one as well.
The main characters from Season 1 were:
Saturn Girl - Telepath and rational thinker of the group.
Lightning Lad - Very hot tempered, but good hearted and controls the power of lightning (duh).
Bouncing Boy - Probably the biggest positive thinker of the group, Bouncy can turn himself into a ball and bounce himself into his enemies, a power that even he admits is better than it sounds.
Triplicate Girl - She can split into three copies of herself and all three work together perfectly in order to fight her enemies; she has feelings for Bouncing Boy
Timber Wolf - Joins the team in the second episode; his real name is Brin Londo and he gained his powers; the body of a wolf-like monster and the senses and strength that come with it; because of his father experimenting on him to turn him into "the perfect being;"
Phantom Girl - Think Raven and Shadowcat mixed into one in terms of powers; she is relatively cheerful and cares deeply for her friends
Braniac 5 - A direct descendent of the villain we all knew and loved to hate in the Superman and Justice League series. However, Brainy dislikes his ancestor's ways and wants to redeem his name by being a hero. He is a 12th level intelect and idolizes Superman.
Superman - Well, more like Superboy, this Superman was pulled from when Clark Kent was about to leave his hometown and was still deciding what he should do with his life. The Legion brought him to their time and taught him how to be a hero and helped him choose to be a superhero.
Season 2 brings some darker plotlines to the table and some new characters as well:
Superman X (aka Kell-El): a 41st century clone of Superman created to fight the warlord Imperiex. He is not a friendly person by nature and doesn't seem to care about anyone but himself at first, but there is some hope for him deep down and it comes out as the show progresses.
I've been loving this show and as you can tell by my avatar, I am a Lightning Lad fan, that's him from Season 2, when they all start to look older.
Now more episodes please?

I'm a little worried about Brainy after the last episode, evil smiles are never a good sign when it's one of the heroes displaying them.

They're just bringing in more of actual comic book plots in. See, he IS the descendent of Brainac, and has some inherent evilllllness.
But he'll come out a good guy. They won't go that dark.
(SupermanX is still a twatwaffle. Imperiex is a cuntrag, though. AH HAET TEM BOFE.)

I've been recording off the WB. Once I figure how to rip DVDs to AVI I'll be posting on Youtube.

veoh.com has all the episodes up to the last aired one, Season 2 episode 8. I think they've gone on a few month hiatus like JLU used to.

I've never heard of this. It's the successor to JLU, you say? I quite liked the original Justice League, but JLU never did much for me. I'll probably check this out eventually.

It's actually made by a different group entirely, but a lot of it seems to be attempting the Timm style.

The executive producer worked on JLU.

...I want new episodes. Anyone know when they're supposed to start airing the rest of Season 2?
VincentX - March 23, 2008 05:50 AM (GMT)
IT'S BACK! Watched episodes 9 and 10 from Season 2 on Youtube; both good; one showed the origin of the Legion. But no Imperiex in either; which was weird. Three left; one of which aired this morning...*waits for it to be uploaded because I missed it*
