The rules say third person and I always post in third person. Would it be okay to do my app in first person though? I find it easier to get behind the character and really into his head when I can write as he would speak. I just don't want to fill out the entire app and then have to rewrite it.

Hey there! I don't do apps, and im sure Mette and Manni will hurt me for replying here for that reason alone....
BUT we've had people write apps in first person and They've been accepted so I don't see how it would be a problem. and as long as you write posts in third person I think it would be okay~ (but again I'd wait to mette and manni give the head ups on that since they are the ones that actually eval the applications). Personally when I use to eval applications I use to leave the first person applications to someone else to do..
... I just realized this doesn't help much.. But just wanted you to know your post was being read! <3
Yeah I'm not Mette or Manni either but I think it's fine if you write in first person in the app. I myself have done so I think (maybe?) A couple of the staff members prefer third person I know, but really what we want is for you to really know your character so that we can then get a good feel for him/her. So if that's through first person- no problem by me...

I'm Mette and I do applications. We mostly prefer if the application is written in third person, because then it's possible (and easier) to be objective, but we don't decline an application because it's written in first-person, and we won't ask you to change it.
Good luck and welcome to the site! Feel free to pm me if you have more questions :)
