On one hand, he's a charming, devil may care, bad boy smart ass who flashes a smile and suddenly you're willing to do anything that he wants. He pretends that he doesn't care about anything except women, his car, and hunting. He laughs in the face of danger and death and he's not afraid of anything. That's the face that Dean shows to most of the world; it's the face that gets him women and information, the face that serves him the best while on jobs. But there's another side to Dean that very few people ever see. It's the side of him that is fiercely protective of family; he would fight and die and bleed and kill for Sam and John and he has, many times over. He he sees Sam as his responsbility, he always has been, and he loves his little brother more than anything else in the entire world. This is the side of Dean that is afraid that his family really doesn't need him as much as he needs him, the side that is afraid his father really isn't proud of him, that he's just a screw up and that he won't be able to hold things together like he needs to. This is the real Dean; the one that was hurt very badly when Sam left them to go to college and the one that really just wants his father's approval. In either face, Dean is very loyal, but very stubborn and sometimes he's absolute hatred of anything supernatural, combined with that stubborness can lead to problems between him and Sammy. Dean tends to see the world much more black and white that Sam does; there is evil and there is good. What is evil must be killed and what is good must be saved and that's it. He absolutely believes that Sam is good, that even though he's psychic, he's still one of the good guys. Now, with the secret his father told him hanging over his head, Dean is even more determined to save Sammy so that he won't have to kill him to save him from himself. Appearance—» Dean is a little over six foot tall and extremely athletic from years and years of having to be in good shape to be a good hunter. He has short, spiky brown hair and eyes that change between being purely green and being hazel. He's very attractive, no one would every try to deny that, and he uses that fact to his advantage as often as he can. He doesn't have any major scars, but he does have numerous small one from all the times he's been thrown into walls, shot at, stabbed at, bitten, etc. His style is casual, comfortable and practical. Dean's unfirm is a pair of worn jeans,a solid tee shirt, biker boots, and sometimes long sleeved button shirt thrown over or his signature leather jacket. He doesn't do shorts. Since there isn't a whole lot of room in the Impala for wardrobe, he tends to wear his clothes until they fall apart or completely unwearable. He accessorizes with a silver medallion and two black bracelets that he never, ever takes off. History—» Dean was born in the small town of Lawrence, Kansas to Mary and John Winchester. John owned co owned an auto shop and he has a little brother named Sam. When Dean was four, his mother was killed by the Demon that also set their house on fire. From that point on, Dean's normal, happy life was over. John, determined to exact revenge on the thing that killed Mary, became a Hunter and began training his sons to be Hunters. The rest of Dean's childhood was spent roaming around America, going wherever there was evil that needed to be killed. His father trained both him and Sam in everything they would need to know to one day become Hunters. He leanred hand to hand combat, all kinds of weapons, in addition to the folklore and legends that would teach him how to deal with Supernatural adversaries. Eventually, he got old enough that he joined his father on hunts. When Dean was twenty-two, Sam decided that he didn't want to be a Hunter and rather violently broke with the family. Dean was hurt, as Sam was his little brother and he always felt responsible for him, but he carried on fighting with their father for the years Sam was at college. Dean ended up going after Sam two years later and it was there that he met a young woman named Elizabeth Tucker. The pair of them started dating and ended up almost falling in love, but John called Dean away and when he had to chose between love and family, he had to chose family and left. Two years after he last saw Sam, John went on a hunt and vanished. After three weeks of waiting, Dean bit the bullet and went to Stanford to ask Sam for help in finding their father. He reluctantly agreed and they embarked on their first job, but didn't find John. Sam intended to return to college life, but the same Demon that killed their mother killed his girlfriend Jess and he decided to join Dean. Together they set out to find their fatrher and kill the demon that had taken so much from them. After several months, they caught up with John and found a legendary Colt pistol that was rumored to be able to kill anything Supernatural. Unfortunately, their plan unravelled when the demon possessed John and tried to rip Dean's heart out through his chest. Sam managed to repel the Demon from John, but as they were making their escape, a demon possessed truck driver plowed into the Impala. Dean was critically wounded and should have died. But John struck a deal with the Demon that he would die in his son's place, so their places were switches. John died and Dean lived and the last thing the father gave to his son was the burden of saving his brother and, if that wasn't possible, killing him. Dean went into a tailspin as he recovered, hunting with a kind of fury and intensity that began to scare Sam. |
