I don't know about the Rhythm and blues, but here's some hip-hoppity songs you can load down for yahseff:
Artists: Blackalicious Lyrics Born Deltron 3030 And there! you can start yourself off with those and if you like em, you might wanna ask rod or Jazzmatazz about more artists. -------------------- |

OMG van, you're SO going to be burned alive for that list.
but i'd say jazzmatazz would be the resident guru for things hip-hop. i know just as much as ryan, maybe a little bit more. |

Rjd2, Sage Francis, Hieroglyphics? Besides that, I can't get past the already mentioned Del and Black.

i think we should let izzo start off with the easy stuff, first. something along the lines of "Rap" and "mainstream."
For starters, I'd suggest a step backward into the good old days of hiphop/rap... A Tribe Called Quest- Scenario OutKast- ATLiens Jurassic 5- Quality Control Snoop Doggy Dogg- Gin & Juice Warren G- Regulator y'know, warm up to the feeling of the genre? and THEN you can move on up to the new flavors: Visionaries- Pangaea Dead Prez- Hip Hop Black Eyed Peas- Hands Up Encore- JayZ Break You Off- The Roots Get By- Talib Kweli and as for R&B: Yeah- Usher Hot & Wet- 112 Let's Take A Ride- Justin Timberlake Take Off Your Cool- Andre 3000 Half-Crazy- Musiq hell, if you've got the guts, get into THE REAL GOOD SHIT atmosphere, aesop rock, aceyalone, jedi mind tricks, pete miser, pharcyde, souls of mischief, and a whole slew of artists. and even though i havent heard them yet, i'd recommend: prefuse73, j dilla, madlib, , m.f. doom, eyedea & the abilities |
