Welcome to the Hello Pepper forum! This forum is for intelligent conversation about parrots, softbills, and other companion birds, as well as other topics of general interest to the avian community. Please read these rules carefully before you post.

1. Above all, be polite to other forum goers, and use common sense. The moderators reserve the right to delete any post for any reason, but probably won't unless you're being a twit.

2. Write in standard English, or the best English you can manage if you're not a native speaker. Capitalize, punctuate, and check your grammar! I will allow some AOL speak for now (i.e. omg lol u r so kewl!11), but if it gets out of hand, it's back to proper English.

3. No flaming or trolling, period.

4. To those from Yerf, VCL, or any other furry community: Please don't post in character or roleplay here. Repeat to yourself.. "I am not a fluffy birdy. I am not a fluffy birdy."

6. Make interesting, insightful, thought provoking topics. Yes/No, either/or questions aren't much fun to read or reply to.

Examples of disallowed thread types include:
"Hi, I'm new!"
"what's your favorite food/color/random item?"
"Why was my post locked?"
"Wah, the mods are unfair!"
Controversial religion/politics/sex posts
Overly personal stuff that's more appropriate for Livejournal.

***Posts about lifestylerism and fetishes ("I think I'm a fluffy birdy! Tweet!") are better left for another forum. New threads that have already been beaten to death in the forums will be locked, so do a search for your topic of choice before you post.

***Also, be sure that your replies are equally insightful. Ask yourself "am I adding anything to this conversation?" before you post that one word reply! Again, pointless posts interfere with the discussion and make it hard to follow--do you really need to make a post saying nothing but "AWWW!!!"?

7. Write titles that describe the thread, e.g. "Looking for advice on breeding canaries" rather than "I have a question..."

8. If you have a problem with a post-locking, contact the mod responsible.

Posts falling outside these guidlines will be tossed out with yesterdays cage paper.

Thanks,
Pepper
