Student Levels ,
Level One
Upon entering Mount Horizon, every student will begin as a Level One. It is considered the "probationary period." This introductory level lasts for a minimum of three months (ooc time). The student will only progress to Level Two after the allotted time has passed and there were no major infractions on their record for a good amount of time. There are no privileges on this level. Electronics will be confiscated during admittance.
Privileges Earned: None.Level Two
After three months, every student progresses to Level Two unless they have a major infraction on their record such as a run away attempt or drug use on campus. Prolonged bad behavior such as continual disrespect and aggression toward counselors and peers will also result in a student not moving up to Level Two. In those cases, two months of progression (judged case by case) will will determine when the student moves to Level Two.
Privileges Earned: -return of electronics (music players, handheld games, etc)
-recreational computer usage (messengers and social networking sites are blocked; all websites are monitored)
-movie night in the main lodge every Friday
Level Three
Level Three is for those students making steady, moderate progress in their personal therapy, group activities, classes, and overall behavior. While their record does not have to be exemplary, considerable growth since first arriving to the school must have been exhibited by school staff.
Privileges Earned:-all privileges of previous levels
-later curfew on weekends
-a “pass” once every two months (you can use this to skip a group meeting or group activity)
-family visits at Mount Horizon
-special requests within reason (personal art supplies, games, something from home, etc.)
Level Four
Level Four is usually made up of students who have been at Mount Horizon for at the very least a year (in game). Unlike Level Three, their record has been exemplary for a good amount of time in addition to exhibiting growth, change, good behavior, and a respectful attitude.
Privileges Earned: -all privileges of previous levels
-unsupervised phone calls
-occasional supervised visits to town
-approved friend visits at Mount Horizon
Level Five
This is the highest level a student can achieve. Generally, they are long term students (2+ years ic time) that have shown personal growth and a desire to live life in a new way. Counselors have a great deal of trust in these students, and the students have shown leadership qualities amongst their peers. They have had
no moderate or major infractions on their record for at least one year (in game) to reach this level.
Not many students will reach this level, and it is perceived as a high honor to do so.Privileges Earned:-all privileges of previous levels
-home trips during weekends (if applicable)
-unsupervised town visits during approved hours (must sign in and out in the office)

Downgrades:Running Away : Automatic drop to Level One.
Caught with drugs, alcohol, or paraphernalia : Automatic drop to Level One.
Exhibiting Violent Behaviors : Will be judged case by case. If you are proven to the aggressor, you will be dropped automatically to Level One. If it’s proven that you were mutually fighting, both parties will be dropped down one level. If it’s proven that you were defending yourself (and not just from verbal attacks) you will be written up, punished accordingly, but allowed to stay on your level.
Sexual Activity : This will also be judged case by case. Continued promiscuity will drop you to Level One.
Disrespectful demeanor toward authority : While this usually won’t drop you any levels unless it is constant, please note that it won’t help you move up levels either.
Lower infractions such as sneaking out, over exercising, etc.: They will all be judged case by case sometimes resulting in a drop, other times not.

*For characters that have been played for a year or more: If you want make your character older now, and a grade higher, just update your file.
**You must put down how long your character has been at the school, not how long you have played your character. If you’ve had a character for a year, but have been playing them as only having been at Horizon for two months, he/she would still be an automatic Level One. If you have been playing a character for three years, but have only aged your character a year, he/she has only been there a year and is not eligible for Level Five. Also, for characters that have been played for over a year, if you want to edit your profile and say they came to the school at a younger age, so they can remain the age you like to play them at, that is fine as well.
***Be honest. If they haven’t gotten caught at every little thing that’s fine, but counselors notice things like attitude as well. If your character is continually difficult or unresponsive to counselors, they aren’t going to be a higher level.
