Reserved Characters

Post here to let us know if you want to reserve a character. The reserve will be kept up for one week, barring extenuating circumstances. Each applicant may have only one character reserved at any time.

In rare circumstances, exceptions may be made, however; if for example you would like to reserve a character, but suspect that they will not be accepted, then you may post a backup reservation in case your first choice is not accepted

Done. Please be aware that Bruce was one of the first characters accepted, so he has a pretty long history here. It's not something that you'll need to incorporate into his bio, just be aware that he has existing relationships with a lot of characters.

Question...

I've been going through the board as I am very interested in joining in... and the character I am interested in playing, Harley Quinn, seems to have been taken, although doesn't seem to be active as of today, 03 August 2009.

I have tons of experience in CW RPG's. From 2001-2007 I was the creator and admin of The Matrix: Future of Zion RPG. However, the game stalled for about a year before burning out completely. I have since been looking for a game that can fill the void of my poor, little hollow heart.

This board seems to have some activity... unlike many of the Batman RPG's I've come across.

So, if she isn't taken, or active, you have someone to fill her shoes, if the need is there.

Is the resident Joker active, or is he something I will have to work into my storyline as I play? Also, would you rather I make a HQ identity for my bio or should I post under this ID until I am approved, as to avoid confusion?

At any rate I will start writing up a bio and a sample post when my little one lies down for his nap.

I'm not certain about our current Joker. Last I heard, he was thinking about dropping him when our Harley player stopped posting. The possibility of a new Harley may encourage more posting, or it may not.

Use that account for now. If/when you get accepted, I'll rename it to something more appropriate.

I believe I may have talked my hubby into applying for Scarecrow. He's at least joined the board (under tombsy), so it's a start!

This isn't a reservation in the least bit (not that I could do this for him anyway). Just a head's up that he may come on board!

Hi, I've taken a look through the board and it looks like the only mention of Catwoman is that she was abandoned in the dead/ deserted thread. If possible can I reserve her please?

We did have an active Catwoman player for quite a while (pretty much from the beginning of the board, up until hrm, two or three weeks ago.

As for what she's done, kind of a lot. Her main relationships have been with Batgirl and (unsurprisingly), Batman. Her relationship with Batman has been pretty much what you'd expect emnity, but attraction. Catwoman and Batgirl have a weird mentor/pupil thing going. They've worked together a few times, but Batgirl doesn't approve of Catwoman's criminal activity, so there's some antagonism.

I'll bear that in mind when writing her history (which I'm doing now). May I change the tone of her character a little? I'd like to make her a little fiercer and more flawed, perhaps developing the finesse and more refined aspects of her nature later on. Or has her personality already been established?

She had an established personality and history, but that's open for you to change. We don't expect you to stick 100% to the letter of the threads that came before, especially as the Batman player that the previous Catwoman's threads were with has left and since been replaced, but, for the sake of continuity, it would be nice to keep the general jist of relationships the same.

I know I know, you're not looking for a Robin at this point, but I just had a plot idea and I need to share . Dick loses his parents but there's no Bruce Wayne to give him a new structure. Instead a confused and traumatized Dick falls directly into the hands of Shrike and his Vengeance Academy and cultivates his own plans of killing Tony Zucco.

Please let me know if you like the idea. If you let Dick and me in, I promise some quality writing and hopefully some more plot ideas .

In the past I've not been overly welcoming to such heavy reimagining, but in this case, I'm going to say go for it. Although in the same way that the League of Assassins became the League of Shadows, I kinda feel like the Vengeance Academy could use a new name.

If you're interested, I'd be up for having Bane stand in for Shrike. Or, if you'd rather keep the 'Vengeance Academy' element, Bane would still be more than happy to assist the ambitious young man in taking down not just Tony Zucco but Zucco's bosses up as many levels as Dick's vengeful little heart desires.

and first of all thank you! And so many new ideas already. Yeah well I'll have to think about the "Vengeance Academy" thing. I kind of liked Dicky in Ninja style , but I probably shouldn't play Shrike myself... hmm. Aside from that I didn't plan to play Dicky as a Master Assassin right away. He just lost the life he lived before and I think time will tell who he meets and who's going to influence him. But he could definitely run into Bane. Go on and try to influence him.
