Everything in Gotham seemed to be dark, even their amusement park, Amusement Mile was dark and closed down. Maybe that was because people didn't like being out after dark, thugs and other things lurked in the shadows, ready to strike when someone wasn't paying attention. The once flashing lights had been shut down, the shadows from the various rides, covered parts of the ground as the moon shown down onto the ground. A cold wind blew through the deserted park, it appeared to be a ghost town, nothing moved. The only noise that could be heard was the wind striking had against the booths, making the wood creak.

The darkness was parted as a figure walked through the shadows. The figure was of a woman, her head lowered as she walked, blonde hair falling in her eyes, hiding her face as she slowly moved along the Midway. Her clothes blended into the night sky around her, the long black trench coat she wore fluttered around her black flare jeans. The black shirt she wore had the green eyes of a cat on it. Her skin was tan, but still pale compared to others around her. The black boots she wore clicked softly against the ground of the midway. Her head turned to see a stuffed animal, just laying on the counter of one of the booths, she tilted her head some, walking up to it slowly and reaching out to it. As she did, everything around her spun and she was suddenly in a different place, at anotehr amusement park when she was a child. She saw her younger self, smiling and hugging a stuffed animal that her father had one for her. Then it was over, over to quickly for the hardened. The old carnivals from when she was a child, everything was real, everything was for the entertainment of others. When she found out that humans put mutants on display, she was outraged, but she could do nothing to stop the freakshows that were allowing that to happen. For once in her life she had felt helpless.

Her eyes opened to find the animal gone and her hand just stretched out, reaching for nothing. She clenched her fist. "You've gotta get a hold of yourself. Can't keep spacing like that, anyone can just come up and attack you." She sighed softly to herself and ran her hand thorugh her hair. The blonde tendrals ran between the fingers, unknotting with one another as they fell back to their original position. Christine lifted her head, bright blue eyes shining out as she looked up at the moon, it was a clear night and even though the lights of the city were on you could see the stars clearly. Avertingher eyes from the light of the moon, she turned her head to the left, her senses picking up the sound of a footstep behind her.

(Since we no longer have Wolvie, May I Reply?)

Lex Luthor hated Gotham City. Metropolis wasn't all champagne and caviar, but Gotham had to the worst chunk of real-estate in the United States, if not the world. Not even America's politicians cared to mention it in their lengthy speeches about cleaning up the chaos and the high crime rates across the manifest destiny. No point in making promises like that when you know you can't ever keep. Luthor chuckled to himself. Broken promises should be the City's byline.

If Gotham was such a dump, why was the greatest criminal mind of the modern era touring its streets? Because real-estate that's big and cheep is never bad. Gotham had aroused his interests in the form another long term scheme. One unlike any Crime of The Century that had come before it.

After an hour or so of treading the dangerous city blocks in his brown suit and curly haired wig, he was surprised to find himself at the dormant Amusement Mile, Gotham's answer to Coney Island. The skeleton's of the fariswheel and the bumper car rides sent a shiver up his spine. Another one of Gotham's unique traits. That sinister atmosphere it had. Walking along absentmindedly, he caught the glimpse of a woman. Intrigued, he approached her and announced himself.

"Hello." He said, sensing her individuality. "Care for some company?"

"Some people can read War and Peace and come away thinking it's a simple adventure story. Others can read the ingredients on a chewing gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe."

Christine grit her teeth as she heard the voice of a man. Her head cocked to the side as she slowly turned around watched him closely. She didn't know what his name was, she didn't know who she was, she really didn't care. Her arms crossed over her shirt, forgetting about the fact that she had been drifting off and he might have noticed that. She didn't exactly care, she was sur eshe was stronger than him and could beat him up if she had to. He didn't look very strong either.

"I suppose not." She said, keeping her teeth clenched, she wasn't looking forward to this. Then again he could be of some kind of help if she ever needed it, she might need a job and he could help her out....maybe. She ran a hand through her blonde hair as she let her arms slowly rest at her sides, a not so tense look upon her but she was on her guard once again. Her eyes moving along the shadows as she searched for anyone else that might wish to ruin her silence.

It wasn't that she didn't care for Human company, she just didn't wish to be in it for long. She was human but felt more connected to nature, probably the reason she was standing in amusement mile and not the city, she would not go near the zoo, where they locked up poor animals for the human's enjoyment, that was something she could not tolerate. "Who are you?" She asked as her cold blue eyes moved onto the man once again.
