Name: Balketh 'Bal'

Age: 19

Race: Human

Title (If any): The Human Typhoon, (No others, yet)

Rank (If any): No Rank Yet.

Appearance: Bal stands at an average 5'9, fair brown hair tops his head, and has sky blue eyes that burn with blue fire. His left arm is auto-mail, but not of any commercial versions. Bal created this auto-mail himself. More on that later. He's well built for a 19 year old, sporting broad shoulders, and a lean, good looking body.

Unfortunately, due to certain events in his history, Bal sustained several injuries, which resulted in large scars across his chest. On the outside of both hands are transmutation circles. The left one was carved by Bal, while the right was carved by another....

A little rumor is that Bal and The Human Typhoon are one and the same. Some say that The Human Typhoon's eyes burn in blue flame, and many say they see blue fire in Bal's eyes.

Clothes: Bal wears a red coat, which would seem to be the fashion, but he wears it for other reasons. When he walks, the coat covers him from the shoulders down, with room to flail still. When he unbuttons it, however, he reveals a leather tunic, and matching pants held on by a belt.

Boots, and gloves of the same material accompany his outfit. An extremely flexible, strong metal underlays the tunic and pants, providing bullet-stopping protection. The leather tunic has no sleeves, which is why Bal wears a black shirt underneath all this. Over his shoulder, you'll often find a black duffel bag, supported by a series of spaced metal rings.

Personality: Bal's a happy, care-free boy on the surface. He doesn't look like an alchemist, but you'll wish you'd never thought that once you see him in action. History hasn't been kind to him, not at all, and yet Bal comes around as a kind, sensitive person, who values all life.

Even with this sensitivity, Bal can still be the worst nightmare you'll ever come across. He's not one to be reckoned with, ever. If you harm anyone, or hurt anyone, in any way, watch your back. He's called the Human Typhoon for a reason, you know.

Lastly, his intelligence, and quick-thinking knows no bounds, and at the same time, his obliviously and sensitivity know no bounds either.

History: We'll cut to the chase here. Bal led a simple life. Nothing fancy, amazing or even above average. Until he and his brother discovered alchemy. His brother, Marcus, thought alchemy was a great magic to be used at his whim, while Bal knew the balances, and respected the power of this great ability. What Bal didn't expect was that Marcus too knew the boundaries of alchemy. This was their downfall.

Marcus wanted to create a talisman, one that would forgo the law of Equivalent Exchange, but he thought of it in a different light. His plan was to take as many atoms as the laws of Physics allowed, and compact them into a talisman, and when the law of Equivalent Exchange was called to act, a minute amount of the talisman was to be used in place of anything else.. He spent many a year stealing valuables, and many special things that contained power-rich atoms. Bal accidentally discovered his plot one day.

He was reading through an alchemy bookshelf, when he came across a non-alchemy themed book. A quick flick through revealed Marcus's plans, and his next target. Uranium. Bal knew that Uranium was dangerous, and that he had to stop Marcus. Long story short, Bal found Marcus attempting to steal a large piece of Uranium from a military base. Unfortunately, Bal's alchemy skills were terrible at the time, and Marcus's were far better. He subdued Bal by tearing his arm off, and making off with it, and the uranium. Bal patched himself up, and went after him.

When Bal reached his home, the destined point of Marcus, he was too late. Marcus had already drawn the transmutation circle, and begun the process. The circle was around their house. Their parents were still inside, asleep, as were all Marcus's stolen materials, and the uranium. Bal was seconds too late in knocking Marcus out. The process had already begun. A white light filled the night sky, and Bal passed out.

Soon, Bal woke to find his house, his parents, and he ever loved, gone. There was just a smoldering hole. Marcus had actually succeeded. There was a note next to some things by Bal. They were some basics: Clothes, a little money, and a bag. His only hand ached something fierce. He looked at it to find it covered in blood, and a transmutation circle was carved into it. It was the most complicated circle he'd ever seen.

The note next to Bal said: "I did it, brother! I'm invincible now. Come and join me. You're the resourceful one, you find me, and together, we'll rule everything, and if anyone wants to stop us, we'll just remove them. Marcus." He knew Marcus had gone mad, and his fears were soon confirmed as an assassin came to Bal, and peacefully said "Marcus sent me to kill you. And he says hi", before attacking Bal, giving him one of many scars.

Bal got fixed up with an old auto-mail arm. From here on, Bal spent every waking day studying and practicing alchemy, learning the ins and outs of every aspect of it. He vowed that he would be powerful enough to stop Marcus, and avenge his parent's... death.

Every time Bal was attacked by an increasing number of mercenaries and assassins, Bal would defeat them, and send them back to Marcus, asking "Why do you do this?"

The only answer he ever got from Marcus was "To see if you're strong enough." He had actually seen Marcus once since their unusual parting. It was extremely unpleasant to say the least. Bal was reported to have turned 'Nuclear'. People could see Bal, but around his was blue flame. Huge columns made of this flame crushed everything in their path, except people. He was after Marcus. No bullets, rockets or explosives could stop him. Not even alchemy. He destroyed the entire city, but not a single person died.

Today, Bal still searches for Marcus, and still trains and studies alchemy. Marcus's plan was solid, and he'd learned of no flaws in his talisman. He'd just have to get it back. He didn't want to kill Marcus, on the contrary, he wanted him alive. Alive and well. And our story begins here.

Alchemic Specialty: Bal didn't pick a particular segment of alchemy, like fire, or weapons, instead he took it on as a whole. Bal's Alchemic Specialty is the basis of alchemy. Changing of one element into another within the nucleus. Bal focused on this, and another aspect: Moving the particles to his will, by changing their structure, weight, or whatever is required to move it.

His skills are amazing. His powers, incredible. There IS one downfall to Bal, however. An uncontrollable aspect of Bal's power, is that he sometimes gets confused, and fails spectacularly at what he attempted to do. Some of Bal's abilities include: The most basics of alchemy, changing one thing to another. Bal's skill at this is almost immeasurable.

Another would be the ability to control the way things move, and where or how they move. Give him a rug, and he'll make a magic carpet out of it. These two aspects are the only aspects Bal ever needed in alchemy, so he devoted a long time to training his skill in them, and plans to take the State Alchemist test soon.

Possessions: A black duffel bag, which contains enough money to get by until he can find some more, some wrapped food, a large bottle of water, and books. Some filled, some blank. Some written by authors, some by Bal. The ones by Bal contain useful alchemical texts, different abilities, and lists of hundreds of common items and their alchemical properties and elements.

Character Goals: To find his lost brother, destroy the talisman that Marcus created so many years ago out of blinded insanity, and restore peace to his life.

I'd like to do that all over, as though nothing happened in the year, except that he continued his search for Marcus.
