Title: Goddess' Challenge

infernoh - July 4, 2006 07:08 AM (GMT)
Setting: Jungles stretching everywhere. Foggy by day, so you cant see more than a mile ahead of you, and clear by night. There is an extremely tall temple in the center of all this jungle, with a small settlement around the base of it. The alter at the top holds the power of the gods and weapons said to have been forged by the gods themselves. Its very well protected, with the best known warrior in all of the lands guarding it. At the top of the alter is a passage to the realm of the gods. There you meet the High Godess. If you pass her trials, she bestows upon you the power of the gods that she finds most suiting of you

Character: An avid martial artist, Infernoh is proficient enough with most weapons. He studied two very different martial arts, along with ninjitsu, he studied aikido and dim mak. Although there are skeptics, the art of dim mak is used to hit pressure points to do damage internally rather than causing outer pain. "There's no way to train your internal organs." He's able to trick his brain into getting body to release adrenaline, allowing him to fight longer even when he's pushed past the point of exhaustion. His primary weapon is a wakizashi slung across his back which he can use in tandem with aikido and his knowledge of pressure points and arteries.

Name: Infernoh

Character: Raised in a Dojo and having no known family for all of her life, Juliana had studied just about every type or martial arts offered at her dojo in her 15 years of life. She has also trained with many weapons, but always finds herself best with 2 kinds: Katanas and shuriken. She had also been trained about life on her own and in the wild, and can make makeshift weapons and shelter out of just about anything she can find. She wears a short, completely black girls ninja garment, and weilds no weapons, relying on only what she has around her for the time being. She has the traditional black ninja headband, an odd sight to see wrapper around her bright, shimmering pink hair.
-----------------------------

The day begins to break infront of Juliana and Infernoh. They have been trecking nonstop for 2 days since their depature from the Tirinoma Doju. They finally reached the edge of what appeared to be the start of heavy jungle, and carefully edged their way in. Juliana glanced around, and grabbed a low hanging branch of a nearby tree, gracefuly backflipping up into 3 surrounding trees, and grabbing branches and vines from around her, tied the branches into a solid base. "We'll set up camp here for the day" she whispered to Infernoh. "Ive got a very ominous feeling about this place... Ive heard stories... But we are nearing where Sensei told us to go." She pointed over the tree tops, through the thick, all-encompassing fog. There was a point at almost the very top of their view where the fog seemed to swirl and form the shape of an altar. "It's still very far off. But were close now. I think we can make it."

"Alright, while you're setting up here i'll go and look for us some food. I saw a spring a way back and there's some foliage I want to check out." Inferno (Fern) said quitely. Juliana nods and Fern slips from the tree. He starts back toward the spring, working from a walk to a sprint. As the spring comes into focus, he notices the plants he was talking about. They have paralytic properties, which could be helpful later on. He picks a few and mixes up a few vials of poison, then fills his jug with water for later. Out of the corner of his eye he notices a small deer. He stealthily makes his way toward it, and with his blade drawn, appears behind it. He pops up and cuts straight through a spider hanging above the deer. "Aww, poor girl.. you need to be more careful." he said softly before patting the deer and shooing it away. "I'll just have to get some mushrooms or something.."

About an hour later, Juliana and Fern had finished eating some hastily gathered mushrooms. "Yeah, I had a deer but she.. she got away from me." "What kind of ninja are you?" The two quietly laugh, and peer toward where the fog seemed to gather at earlier. It was gone, and the shape of what appeared to be a temple loomed over the canopy.

Juno - July 4, 2006 08:41 AM (GMT)
A dull starlight bagan to grow in the sky as the cresent moon began its rise into the evening sky. Juliana nibbled pensively on one of the mushrooms as she stared out of a makeshift window she had made in the canopy. "You said there was a stream not far from here?" she asked Fern in a whisper. He noded at her and pointed in the direction. Without saying a word she got up and left. She walked for a good 5 minutes before finally hearing the sound of running water. The sun had completely set now, and as she approached the stream, the starlight from above gave it a strangely sensual luminosity. Juliana immediatly began to strip herself of her clothes. She pulled out the black bandana tied in her hair, and flung it over a tree branch along with her other ninja garments (including her delicates). She slowly submerged her body into the stream, letting the water caress every curve. It had been a long time since she could take a decent bath, and she didnt plan on letting now go to waste. She dunked her pink hair into the stream, admiring the crystal clarity. For atleast an hour she sat in the stream, until Fern finally came to tell her it was time to move on.

"Hey, we should probably get going before OH JESUS FUCK ARE YOU NAKED?!" Fern blurted, ever so subtly. His nose began to flow blood as he turned and slammed his head into a tree, his eyes as wide as plates, almost anime-esque. "What, haven't you ever seen a girl naked before? Hehehehehe." She said coyly. "...I'll be waiting back at base camp. I'll probably need you to guide me 'cause i'm going to cut my eyes out." "Tch, pansy."

He moved slowly to the camp, letting his wakizashi drag along the trees, sharpening the edges in a technique he learned from his old master. Fern, now completely ready and extremely horny, waited for Juliana to come back to base camp. "God damnit, quit bleeding. Quit bleeding. This is ridiculous." The moon shined brightly, illuminating his sheath with some kanji engraved into it. The characters read, "Protect those you value with your life."

Juliana giggled to herself, and felt herself blushing as she pulled her clothes back on. Her clothes stuck tight to her wet body, so she sat out next to the river for a few moments, letting her clothes and herself dry. As she did, she found a newborn elm tree growing, and ripped it up. Taking a rock, she shed it of all its branches and roots, fashioning a handle and sharpening it to a fine point at the end. "Thatll have to do for now" she said to herself, standing up and walking back towards camp. She walked back in and gave an awkward half smile, half embarassed look at Fern, blushing deeply. "Time to move out" she whispered to him. He noded, and they began their long walk toward the temple in the center of the jungle. The foilage was so high and so thick above them that they were bassicly walking blind. Suddenly, they came to a very large opening. Looking up, they both saw the temple, not far from them, a strange, ominous light emmiting from its alter. They sat down for a quick rest in the clearing.

infernoh - July 4, 2006 09:21 AM (GMT)
Sitting in the open area, the two quickly caught their breath, knowing the task that awaited them. "So, I wonder what's up at that temple anyway? You think it's some sort of great power only fitted for a great female warrior?" She smirked and jabbed into Fern's ribs. "OW, that's my soft spot!" he said, grinning wickedly back at her. The two stopped their movement suddenly. Two eyes, glowing red eyes, peered at Fern from behind Juliana's back. "What.. what's wrong?" she asked timidly. He slowly drew his wakizashi and reached out to grab her and move her out of the way. Suddenly, the beast leapt from the shrubbery to reveal itself as a giant silverback gorrilla. With no time to clutch his wakizashi with both hands, he was forced to drop it as he leapt to meet the gorilla in mid air, slamming to the ground about three feet from Juliana. She drew her katana and stood in a defensive stance. Fern and the gorilla traded blows. "How the fuck do you fight a gorilla?!" he yelled before getting punched in the chest. "I don't know!" she responded. Fern was able to grab a wrist of the gorilla and sweep it's feet, slamming it to the ground. He maneuvered to put it into an arm bar and attempt to dislocate it's arm but was foiled. The gorilla picked him up with one arm and slammed him into a tree. He reached and drew his wakizashi and the gorilla drug him into the foliage just out of sight. There was a loud scream and blood sprayed from the shrubbery.

Juno - July 5, 2006 10:45 AM (GMT)
Juliana was in a shock. She didnt know what had just happen, or if Fern was even alive. After finally coming to her sense, she grabbed her makeshift katana and ran into the foilage at the edge of the clearing. There was a clear trail of blood leading through the jungle, and she followed it, stopping every now and then to catch her breath. After running for about half an hour, she reached the end of the blood trail. It was going straight into a cave in the side of a mountain. Clutching her sharpened stick in one hand, she slowly inched her way into the cave. It was dark and damp, and the smell of mold engulfed her. A few minutes of walking lead her to what appeared to be a dead end. Figuring that nothing was inside, she sighed and turned to walk out. As she did, she felt her foot hit something and a loud "OOF". "Fern? Is that you?" she whispered urgently. A dark figure stood up, apearing to be rubbing its stomach. "Yeah, its me." Fern whispered back. "Thank the gods," said Juliana, almost hugging him, but refraining from it. "Are you ok?" "Well... Lets see..." Said Fern, "You found me unconcious in what appears to be some kind of cave... You kicked me in the ribs... Yup, im deffinitly fine." Juliana noted the sarcasm at the end of his statement, and grabbed his arm. "What the fuck are you doing?!" said Fern, trying to struggle free. "Youre injured, im trying to help you out of here." she said, pulling him towards the exit. "We gotta get out of here before that gorilla gets back." "Oh... Right... Helping me out..." Fern said in an awkward tone. "Well... Lets get going then"

infernoh - July 5, 2006 10:50 AM (GMT)
The two walked for what seemed like hours. Fern finally gave in and accepted her help with walking, though his mind told him not to, his body was beaten up pretty badly and verbally bitchslapped his mind back into place, 'cause, you know, it deserved it.

"From the trees earlier, I saw a small encampment around the bottom of that temple complex.. we should go check it and find out if there's a medic of any sort there. You need it." "Stum-" Fern began, but was soon interrupted by muffled gufaws and oomphs of Juliana stumbling over a series of roots and logs, flinging Fern to the ground and finally ending up sprawled out over him. The two exchanged petrified looks and Juliana quickly leapt to her feet, Fern right after. The two continued to walk until they exited the forest and came upon the encampment.

Juno - July 5, 2006 11:11 AM (GMT)
Juliana slowly helped Fern into the encampment. It was smaller than they had expected, but still had all the acomodations of a normal town. They quickly found Fern a medic, and Juliana roamed around town as she waited for the medic to tell her Fern was done. She gather alot of information about the mysterious alter at the top of the temple. Her and Fern would be very pleased with what they would find at the top to say the least.

infernoh - July 5, 2006 11:18 AM (GMT)
Fern drifted in and out of consciousness, not knowing where he was and not caring. During his unconsciousness, he began to have terrible flashbacks from years passed. He kept hearing the words "Don't.. kill.. me.. please.. my son.." but denied that he really heard them or thought about them. That was a memory he didn't need to remember, nor did he want to.

"Hey, good to see you're up, lazy." Juliana said slyly. Fern said, under his breath, "...Fuck off.." Juliana stood in shock. "Wha-.. what did you say?" "I'm sorry, i'm just.. i'm.. I need to get to the top of the temple. Now." Fern ripped the sheets off of him and grabbed his clothing and wakizashi. "I'm going whether you come or not."

Fern opened the door and let it slam with a harsh bang. Juliana hadn't moved. She pondered, "What's wrong with him? Surely he didn't get hit on the head during that fight with the gorilla." She grabbed her makeshift katana and followed distantly.

When they reached the base of the temple, Fern wasted no time in sprinting up the steps. Juliana followed, gaining on Fern and yelling, "Hey! Stop!" but Fern took no notice and continued. They ran up the steep temple steps for what seemed like hours. When they reached the top, they found themselves staring down a large, athletically built man in bulky armor. "I've been expecting you."
