How will the PS3 make money?

I've read on quite a few sites that the PS3 is losing money with each sale, approximately £156, so how will Sony ever make money? I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to buissness and trading but could someone less ignorant in that subject shed some light on how this works?

I believe Sony well make their money back through the sells of games and accessories, though it may take a while before they start making a profit overall.

The PS3 has to sell around 30 games per console in northern America to make money back.

In Europe the console is higher priced (nearly double the states) so they can cut down on the stuff they need to sell.

Today sony also hinted about selling downloadable HD TV shows and movies so they should get a little cash back there if it all goes to plan.
