The University of Alaska Anchorage Department of Biological Sciences offers a Bachelor of Science (BS) in the Natural Sciences and both a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biological Sciences. Students in the Department of Biological Sciences can get involved in the Biology ANSEP Club (initially designed for Alaska Natives, American Indians and Pacific Islanders, but is open to all Biology students) and the UAA Fisheries Club. The latter club is designed for students wishing to pursue a professional career in fisheries biology (more questions can be sent to fish_club@uaa.alaska.edu). Students in these majors can continue their studies in various programs. These include (but are not limited to) the Master of Science (MS) in Biological Sciences at UAA, the Master of Science (MS) in Fisheries at UAF, the Master of Science (MS) in Marine Biology at UAF, the Master of Science (MS) in Oceanography at UAF, and the Master of Science (MS) in Seafood Science and Nutrition at UAF.
