The Fatherhood Coalition of Tarrant County is collaborating with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to coordinate services for non-resident fathers with the aim of determining the impact of non-resident fatherhood involvement on the outcomes for children in the care of DFPS. A rigorous experimental research design will be established and through a partnership with the Urban Institute, will result in a comprehensive evaluation of the project.
Fathers will be identified by DFPS and be integrated into FOCUS classes over a three year period. FOCUS will serve as a weekly anchor and hub for peer-led, solution-focused groups seeking to successfully integrate the fathers into the lives of their children who are under DFPS care.
