Rule #1: Concerning posts in general
a) Concerning Forum Categories: Post everything where it belongs. There is a difference, so think carefully. Penalty: An improperly placed thread will be moved, but you won't get a warning for it unless you do it very often and it's something completely out of the blue, not debatable. b) Concerning Bumping: Bumping is not allowed. Bumping refers to posting in an outdated thread. An outdated thread is one that discusses a passed event in some way or another. If you consider such a thread to be a valuable addition to the Forums that should not get lost in the sands of time, please PM a Moderator, Super Moderator or Administrator to have it stickied rather than Bumping it. Penalty: Level One warning. c) Concerning Advertising: Advertising, defined as posting a link to another Web site, is allowed, as long as the Web site either I) answers the Thread Starter's question, II) is in some other way relevant to the topic, or III) contains important information that the Poster wants to show other Members of the Forums, and should then be posted in its respective Category of the Forums. In its respective Category, advertising in a new thread is of course allowed. Advertising where it is unwanted and off-topic is not allowed. Penalty: Deletion of post/removal of link, Level One Warning. d) Concerning Flaming: Flaming refers to directly insulting another Member, person, television show, Pokémon, opinions or beliefs, or other kinds of things that can be insulted. It is strictly forbidden. Penalty: Level Two Warning. e) Concerning Swearing: There is censorship on this board, which should handle most explicit profanity. Whether censored or not, swearing will not get you in trouble unless it falls under part D of this rule. Meaning that they will be tolerated as emphasis on your words, but not in a rude manner towards a person or thing. Rule #2: Concerning SPAM Spam is defined as: a) Any kind of a post that has nothing to do with the topic specified by the Thread Starter. Penalty: Level One Warning. b) Any post at all which comes after another post made by the same Member, a.k.a. double/triple/quadruple/etc. posting. Penalty: Post merge, Level One Warning. c) Any kind of a thread which does not involve a discussion or help for other Members of the Forums. Moderators, Super Moderators and Administrators can post announcements of the sort, but not normal Members. Penalty: Thread deletion/lock, Level One Warning. d) Any kind of a post with the sole purpose of raising the Poster's Post Count. Penalty: Level One Warning, in extreme cases lowering of Post count. e) Any kind of a post containing excessively lengthened words or rows of images which stretch the page to the sides. Penalty: Post edit containing an angry warning for Page-Stretching, Level One Warning if the Moderator, Super Moderator, or Administrator feels like it. Rule #3: Concerning Forum Categories a) "Insanity" excludes off-topic posts from the definition of SPAM. b) "Fan Art" excludes the Rule concerning double/triple/quadruple/etc. posting when posting new art in your own art thread. An art thread is never outdated, and therefore will not count as a Bump however old it is. c) "Fan Fiction" excludes the Rule concerning double/triple/quadruple/etc. posting when posting new chapters in your own FanFiction. Rule #4: Concerning Private Messages a) All personal discussion between two Members should be held through Private Messages, not regular Forum Threads. b) As Private Messages are private, I cannot forbid anything properly, but if anybody feels bothered about anything said to them in a Private Message, they should PM me about it and I will change their password to something they specify, log into their account and view the offending Private Message in order to prove the accusations, then take the appropriate action according to the regular Forum rules. c) Concerning Advertising: Pleading for any Member to join a Forum or in some other way benefitting the Sender's Website or Forum through Private Messages is not allowed. Penalty: Level One Warning for first offense, Private Messaging System disabling for further offense Rule #5: Concerning Moderators, Super Moderators and Administrators a) Do not ask an existing Moderator, Global Moderator, or Administrator to become one. The Administrator will make trustworthy people into Global Moderators when she seems fit and at no other time. b) Concerning Power Abuse: Power abuse is defined as using Moderator powers for personal issues or other things that make difference between the various Members of the Forums, or giving a random Member harsher punishment than defined in these Rules. Penalty: Demodding. c) Concerning Banning: If the Moderators, Super Moderators and Adminstrators all agree to ban a Member, said Member will be banned irrelevant of whether his or her Posts actually break any rules. Rule #6: Concerning Warnings The warning system goes like this: A Level One Warning gives one Warning Point, a Level Two Warning gives two, a level three warning gives three points, four warning points gives four points, and Five Warning Points result in a permanent ban. Exceptions may be made in special cases. Rule #7: Concerning mature material Nothing absolutely inappropriate must be posted. That includes any kind of pieography or hentai whether in words or images. Penalty: Instant ban without exceptions. Rule #9: Concerning Rules All Validating Members who have read the Rules should send me a PM with the exact words "I hereby declare that I have carefully read the rules of the new Jirachi's FireRed LeafGreen Forums and will follow them to the best of my ability." Once a Member has sent me such a PM, his or her Account will be Validated and he or she will be able to Post. Accounts that have not been validated within fifteen days of their creation are automatically deleted. Once Validated, an E-mail is not disposed to a Member. He or she will have to check by him/herself. |
