It was the middle of the day when Jay finally reached Feather valley's town, but it appears that he found himself in the marketplace. It was rather quiet and eerie, but he was more than sure that life would soon pick. Jay put the quietness down to it not being a market day and so thus forth settled himself down on a bench and gave his feet a rest

To any on lookers they would see Jay sitting upright on the bench who was a good 6ft 2" tall, with long black hair tied back into a pony tail. His neck and wrist was adorned with jewellery and he was garbed in blue jeans, black skate shoes and a black hoody. Beside him were to bags; one an over the shoulder satchel and the other a rucksack. Both were made of a camouflaged pattern material and both were bursting at the seams having been stuffed to brink with possessions.

It had been a long morning and whilst he was feeling nervous Jay felt very excited. To himself he thought that yes he was finally here, and all his previous hard work and dedication had paid off. Images of his imagined new life flooded him; his own place, studying hard at the university only a few miles away, making lots of new friends. But then reality crept in. He hadn't exactly got the money for a nice place, university fees had cleared him out completely. So much so that he couldn't even afford to live in halls with all the other students. And as for lots of friends there was no body here! It was like a ghost town. But then again there was that feeling that someone would turn up. But that could be just a feeling, so he unzipped on of his bags and immediately regretted it as all his stuff fell out. Quietly cursing he shoved back in leaving one thing out. It was a book. A small blue book. Picking it up slowly and carefully like you would a child Jay lifted the book to his lap and then opened the pages just as gently and began to read. Any onlooker would be able to see the book title read "Four approaches to counselling and psychotherapy by Windy Dryden". But soon he realised that he should find somewhere to go and began walking again.

It had been a fairly long time since Kayla had come to Feather Valley and so far everything had been going well for her, the people she had met so far had been so very kind to her. However that was not normal. She was sure of it, her past eighteen years of living told her as much. A small town couldn't be that different from a large city...

Kayla walked slowly with her head held down, lost in her thoughts. Something was going to go wrong, it always did. Yes, perhaps she would soon meet a police and realize that she was not allowed to be here in the first place and thus be promptly thrown out. Or maybe the people she had met were the only kind people and everyone else was cruel, or maybe- Kayla shook her head, forcing her train of thought to halt. She lifted her head for a moment to quickly gaze around her and was unsurprised to find that she didn't quite know where she was, what she did know was that she was somewhere in town. Though, luckily for her, no people seemed to be around. Kayla wrapped her arms around herself protectively, as she glanced from one side to the other nervously and with slight paranoia, sure that a crazed lunatic was going to come from out of nowhere and hurt her. She jumped as she heard a sound behind her, she quickly turned around ready for the worst, only to find a bird innocently pecking at the ground. She let out a long breath of inexpressibly relief, mentally berating herself for being so silly.

Though still a bit on edge Kayla started to slowly walk again, deciding to try and find her way back to the forest or the meadow, as those places seemed to calm her down significantly. Kayla let herself become lost in picturing the beautiful landscape, glad to find that thinking of that helped to ease the large knot that had formed in her stomach. Hearing a soft noise Kayla once again became aware of the world around her and as her head was down once more the first thing she noticed was the ground, followed by her shoes, followed by another pair of shoes a little ways away.

'Wait... Another pair of shoes...? That means that...' Without needing to complete that thought Kayla gave a soft high pitched squeak as she jumped backwards, almost falling to the ground as she did so. After speedily regaining her practically lost balance Kayla glanced up at the owner of the shoes, seeing that it was a man who looked like he could easily injure her if angry she dropped her head back down.

"I-I-I... I'm s-so s-s-sorry..." She quietly stuttered out fearful beyond words that she might have offended the man by interrupting whatever it was he was doing there by himself. She slowly took a few steps back, fully prepared to turn around and run should the man be angry with her.

Jay looked up from his book as he heard the girl infront of him fall. He had been so immeresed in reading that he hadn't even noticed that there was someone else there. Quickly stashing his book into the satchel at his side and putting his bags down as he moved closer to the girl.

She was quite a pale girl, with magnificant red hair, but slightly more out of the usual was that for someone with red hair she had astonishingly large beautiful blue eyes. For a second he was lost in them, as they were almost trancing. But when she spoke that brought him out of his miniscule dream-like state.

"I-I-I... I'm s-so s-s-sorry..." she said.

A small but warming smile came to Jay's lips as he outstreched his hand. "Here...I'm Jay. Your not hurt are you?" His voice was calme and gentle, and almost had an airy feel to it. It was one of those voices that could easily make you feel relaxed and at home. As he offered his hand to help the girl up, his ring on his fourth finger glinted brightly as it caught the midday sun. In the very few seconds that he had whilst offering her his hand, he immediatley began to analyse her due to normal reaction. Her voice was overly fearful of someone she'd just met. This could be to embarrassment but even them it seemed a bit too much for just that. But then again she could just have a mere stutter and like usual he was reading into it too deeply. Stop it! he thought. She was just a normal person and not a client of his, he really had to stop doing this to everyone.

Kayla stared at the hand in front of her curiously for a long moment before hesitantly taking it. "I... I-I'm Kayla... P-Pleased to m-meet you..." She replied unsurely looking up at the man- Jay's face for a moment, her eyebrows knitting together in confusion at the gentle look on his face. She was sure that she had interrupted him, so he should be angry with her. The fact that he didn't appear angry in the least somehow made her feel both relived and worried. Why was it that no one seemed to be reacting in the way she expected them too?

She shook her head at his question. "N-No. She said while waving her hands in front of her and shaking her head. "I'm f-fine.... T-T-Thank you." She all but whispered. She stood silently for a few seconds her expression becoming increasingly worried looking as she wondered whether to voice her current concern or not. The thing was that while Jay looked to be kind, Kayla was sure that he was most likely just being polite and he really wanted to be by himself as he formally was. So her being there was probably an inconvenience.

"I-I..." Kayla started before trailing off unsure of how to word what she wanted to say. "A-Am I-I-I... B-Bo.." She struggled to make her voice come out as it seemed to want to stop working for a moment. "...Bothering y-you?" She finally finished softly.
