Hi all.

Well, it's finally the end of my summer break, which means that I'm slightly less insanely busy than I have been since Christmas, which means that I can get back to this place and see... that everyone else has evidently been insanely busy too. I want to have a chat with all of you about the future of Excelsior, but first I want to apologise deeply for not being able to devote the time and energy that this place needs and deserves. I dropped the ball, and I'm sorry.

So what lies in Excelsior's future? I'm more than keen to keep it open, but only if everyone is still interested in playing here. This game is nothing without all of you, and I don't feel right making a decision without all of your input. Do you think Excelsior should stay open? Or has the game come to the end of its life? Is there something we can do to improve activity if we do stay open? What is your opinion on the idea of a plot reset? We've lost many players, and therefore many characters, so a reset would be a good way to clean things up. If we go this route, anything that people want to keep in continuity will most certainly stay in it. There's also the option of adding some of the newer Marvel movies to our game's canon.

What are your thoughts? As I said, this place is nothing without all of you, so I can't decide these things on my own. Please do take the time to let me know, whether via email or by posting here. I'd love to keep this place open, but I need to know whether anyone else agrees.

Thanks for reading, and I hope to hear from some of you soon.

Cheers,

Kate

Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but since the discussions stopped, I joined another message board. So as of right now, I don't really have time to pick Excelsior back up.

I really do apologize for leaving. As much as I hate to say it, I think Excelsior might have run its course.

Thanks so much, everybody, for keeping it fun all the way to the end! smile.gif

I really, really hate to say it, but I have to agree with Michael. As much as it hurts to admit, I think the game has run its course.

Would it be possible to revive it, with a lot of effort and a lot of new blood? Possibly. But possibly not.

Like Michael, I've picked up a new game as a fall-back should EX close, and it's taking up a lot of my time. I've also embarked on a new part-time, on-line business, and that's been consuming my life pretty thoroughly.

So... I don't know what to say, or what to suggest. I loved EX. Still love it, and everyone I had the honor of playing with here. But I think it might be time to just... let it go. sad.gif

No-one else has anything to add? I guess that two replies in two weeks does say something about the discussion, really.

I'll leave the thread up a little while longer, and hopefully if anyone else has something to add they'll let us know.

Cheers.

It makes me really sad. We've had a wonderful run, and it's a shame to see the board just fizzle out like this. I really hope that I get to play with you all again, I've had a fantastic time and met some awesome people - and fantastic roleplayers. I'm going to miss Excelsior, and my characters, but it's a sad truth that games can't function without an active and dedicated player base. I know I was a big part of the problem when I dropped off the face of the earth, and I know that things had been slowing down anyway, but it's a shock to see a place that was having huge amounts of activity for such a long time change into this.
