So, I got to thinking earlier and realized that there's not much harm your average author/writer can do, short of hurling a book at someone. Hardcovers can hurt...Anyway, the Fictionals really take on all of the action once they arrive. How will the Authors and Writers fight it out? I got an idea: a poetry slam. Literally. What if those with a poetic flair had these duels where they hurled verses at each other? The battle would be fairly decided by whose was the best with an anonymous poll OOC. Maybe there'd be some physical damage to the loser, maybe not. The kinks still need to be worked out. What could fiction writers do? It can be as out there as you want.

That'd be cool, a battle royale of words between all the writers and authors of the city. Perhaps the words spoken by a person could have effects so as to somehow affect another person on the opposing side.

Those are the lines I was thinking on. What did you have in mind?

Maybe, there could be a battle involving an attack by the Authoress and others who are with her, causing other free liberist writers to defend, thus finally ensuing them to summon their works into powers, creating a full-fledged war on the streets. They could be a free group of writers, works in hand in discussion, and be bombarded by an argument given and started by the authoress.

QUOTE (Nyphetamine)
...summon their works into powers
Literally? evil.gif Sounds good, especially if we're going to do a final deciding melee. How would the outcome of the battle be decided? We could always use dice or something.

I just had another thought about the voting system - people might only vote for their side. Hmf. I guess we could give it a shot, and if it's obviously happening find another way to decide 'em. I really liked the voting on the quality of writing idea because it gave the battle something real to work for, as opposed to something pre-planned. An element of surprise, y'know? The 'bad' side could quite possibly win.

People might have characters on both sides, so there's no garuntee that they'll only vote for their side. Dice should only be used as a runner up, since you can't actually see the other person roll.

Good point with the dice there. Hmm... if it gets to that, we could always do best two out of three. Have three members roll and PM results to a third party. That may be needlessly complicated, though. tongue.gif

The way I thought of it, I always imagined that the writers would think up battle scenes and such, and when they said it to the opposing side, it had the same effects as if you were actually doing it? I don't know, mental image. but with the dice idea, I think that three peopl doing it iss a good idea, because otherwise people may think that whe one person is going to lie about their answer, but with three at least there's a chance it might be unbiased. The poem idea is a good one too, maybe it could be the battle scenes in poetic form or something?

Just a few random thoughts that popped up biggrin.gif
