Uptown Soho The sleek, sophisticated part of town, where all the trendy businesses are located on slick black pavement. The apartments here are definitely not in the budget of a starving artist, although it's not without its nooks.

The Streets From the cobbled stone of downtown to the uptown asphalt, this is Soho's web of streets and alleys. Chat with neighbors on a stoop, rally a protest, and avoid the cabbies. Forum Led by: The Mod Squad |

Downtown Soho The lower end of Soho in both a literal and figurative sense, with fresh talent growing up through the sidewalk cracks. Most of the Writers are from this part of the city, and consider places like the Bleeker Street Cafe and UnikBotik their home ground.

The Subway Need to get around SoHo, the 'country' (Long Island), or Manhattan? Or anywhere, really - this is the subway, site of the most recent graffiti poems.
"Look closely at your next subway token, and speak to strangers."
[Uptown Local:Diane Duane]
"The last train is nearly due,
The underground is closing soon,
And in the dark deserted station,
Restless in anticipation,
A man waits in the shadows.
His restless eyes leap and scratch,
At all that they can touch or catch,
And hidden deep within his pocket,
Safe within its silent socket,
He holds a colored crayon...."

MadriCorp MadriCorp: the headquarters of Matel, Adriana: the Authoress. This Long Island reporter was once credited for reviving interest in books, but is now shunned in inner book circles for her 'sell-out' to major marketing companies. She gained as good as she lost: wannabe authors and people looking for a new thrill followed her over, especially after her characters peeled off the page. 'Madri-Corpse' is what the Writers refer to this place as. Forum Led by: The Mod Squad |

Viridian Park What, grass in Soho, NY? Yes, Viridian Park is an oasis of green in a city of grey. Trees naturally muffle the car horns and sirens, with children trickling like raindrops from thier branches. Stone benches and fountains make it the perfect place to walk with a lover.

Quill University A college for aspiring writers of all sorts. The grounds include the library, a theater and dormitories, among the usual campus sprawl. To join a sororiety or fraternity, you must have at least 45 points; to create one you need 99. The admission fee for general clubs (newspaper, chess, lacrosse) is 27. Forum Led by: The Mod Squad |
