There has been a lot of rumours about an American Remake for the japanese movie Battle Royal. In June 2006, Ain't It Cool News website reported that New Line Cinema along with producers Neil Moritz and Roy Lee intend to produce a hardcore, American remake adaptation of the film. However, in July 2006, battleroyalefilm.net reported a New York Times article that stated New Line Cinema had not, in fact, obtained the rights to the film. This does not mean they won't obtain the rights to remake the film, it only means they have not acquired them yet.

So what are your thoughts about remaking this movie, I have read lotsa people who are against it because they would Americanize the movie too much, but wouldn't that be a good thing? I think you completely need to Americanze this movie for it to be believable and for it to work. I'm kinda curious on how they would do it the only thing that I would be afraid of is that they would tone down the violence or completely ridicule it so it goes from gross and shocking to laughable and scary. like they tend to do all the time
