WOW .. i'm speechless.. I don't think I've EVER seen this done before. This fall Law & Order CI will premiere NOT on NBC, but USA Network!!

I find it interesting that they will pivot L&O CI against NBC's ER. Also , Julianne Nicholson who JUST made her debut as Megan Wheeler this past season is on maternity leave; Alicia Witt will fill in for her.

IMO i think they need to tone it down on the cast changes, as it may be hard for some ppl to follow. They already brought in a new captain played by Eric Bogosian, and Mike Logan's character played by Chris Noth who was previously on the original Law & Order. Mike Logan's character debuted with Carolyn Barek, but now has Megan Wheeler as a partner, however she will be temporary replaced while the actress is on maternity leave. While I understand all the actors/actresses had their reasons for leaving (diesases, etc) i still think it hurts the show when you replace the cast so quickly.
