Reports of people rising from the dead are true. Repeat, they are true. People are getting up after dying and have begun attacking the living. One bite and an infected person will die and rise again in less than just a few hours. We warn you to stay inside. If anyone in your family has been bitten, restrain them! We are now signing off to go home to our own families.

In the year 2012, an infectious outbreak of a virus dubbed Solanum ripped through the human race – everywhere on Earth. It causes those that had died to rise again, hungry for the living. Many countries ignored it, including the United States, not wanting to start unnecessary panic. Despite their efforts, an era known as the Great Panic occurred, where millions died. Vital information was not released, including how to kill these creatures once and for all. Society crumbled and government abandoned their people. The United States government has retreated past the Rockies, abandoning two-thirds of the country.

We ran and hid, but not anymore. Now we know what to do, and we’re going to take back our land. We’re going to take back our lives. But rebuilding from the ground up, it’s going to take some time. Everyone is getting new jobs in labor. We still keep watch at night. For now, our lives are just about surviving the harsh winters and random attacks from those undead things. But one day, we'll get rid of all of them. We'll get back our old lives. Until then, I promise I’ll protect you.
