IMPORTANT: The future of DoO, Please read and reply

Greetings all DoO' ers!

I was wondering how the future of this clan would look like.

Reasons why I asked:
-AoT is old and kinda dead.
-AoE3 on it's own is already getting old, and nobody (of this clan) seems to like it.
-Ensemble Studios is dead, so there won't be a new AoE game (correct me if I'm wrong)

So what we have here is:
-a clan that plays an old game in a series that won't release new versions.

Concluding:
-In time, this clan will die if we won't act. Eventually all of us will grow bored with AoM:TT (and AoE3).

So what to do:
-A new direction for the clan? Will we focus on other games? 1 game/series or more? RTS? or different genres? and if so, which game(s)?

Post everything you would like to say here. Am I overreacting? Is everything good the way it is? Or is action required?

Well i can just speak for my own, but iam not interested in other games. Iam not the typical pc-child who plays computer every day. I just play aot because my father was an old pro in aoc, thats why i liked this series so much.
If aot will really die, i wont play any other games, sorry.
But imo is aot active enough too keep a clan alive.

AoE:3 is shit in my opinion
So if aot dies (in 10 years) i wont play anything else.

I am also on same page as Revo. I only play this game, never bought any others, they've never appealed to me. So if aot dies, i think most clans will go with it

At the moment it's a beta version. In the future there probably will be a clan option too. At the moment you can join friends, so u can play with eachother. I play it when I have some spare time. It's fun. When you want to play it you need a beta-key, you can get it on the site.

NOTE: at this moment the game is offline, because of some issues they are recovering.

Hi Joris,

The way you took care of DoO in the past is very good and i believe this thread is also a very good way to begin a new direction.

I like to say that i, and my best friend and AOE3 player, DoO_Darkrush_NL are back playing aoe3+ expansionpacks. We invite everybody to come and play the game and hopefully we will see you at ESO.

It's a pitty ensemble studio's is dead, but the AOE series isn't! The new name for the studio is: Robot Entertainment and they have the right to produce new patches for aoe3 tad and aoe4. Search for the website on google and you will find this to be true! They will publish their news on their website so we will see the new games comming.

Aoe3 is still very much alive, but in a few years from now the amount of players will get smaller on ESO2.

My proposal is to give people in the clan the right to play the games they want to play with the DoO_names and maybe it is an idea to also give some players the right to recruit players for each of the games. They will then report to the leaders of the clan and this forum will need some changes depending on the games played. For instance let's say that 5 DoO_members playing the same game is enough to start a new branche of DoO_. Those 5 members wil become new partial clanleaders or recruiters for that specific game. That way the amount of games will increase, but also the chances of the clan surviving, because when players also have a active role in the clan, they will like it even more to stay.

I think you will be surprised at how long aot lives. They are currently making a very well-managaed fan patch which eliminates the few bugs and cheats, balance will be adressed later.

Still, I will only play aot with the clan imo. However, if you guys move on to a new game, I will still stick around the forum

Hi all. Thanks for this topic DoO_Joris!!! Again you've showed to be a great leader of the clan.

I still play AoE3. The game is still officialy supported, but not by ensemble studios anymore.

I have thought about new games for this clan as well. For a free online multiplayer experience battlefield herous is one of the best suggestion done in this topic so far.

Beside, take a look at the following titles:

• Empire Total War (multiplayer campaign will be added soon!!!!)
• Cities XL (online citybuilder game, altough it will cost you 4,50 a month)
• World in Conflict
• Anno 17xx

Also look at the proposal of DoO_Wolf_NL. I think it's a good one .

I only play poker atm, but I regularly check out the 0 a.d. page. It has the potential of becoming a great game, if it ever gets finished
