IC- In Character

OOC- Out Of Character

PC- Player Character

NPC- Non-Player Character

Board- Message board often used for role playing

Forum- An area for posting, usually a specific setting (eg. Lake Billy-The-Kid, Shanalorm)

Thread- A topic that someone starts on a story line where other people can join and contribute with their own characters

Post- A piece of a thread contributed by a character

Multiposting- Posting in many different topics at the same time

Thread Killer- Someone who ends a thread of role playing by single-handedly "saving the day" in under three lines

Power Playing- When one character dictates the actions of another or traps the other character in a situation in which they have no alternatives
