10 Levels of Hell, Phoebe's photos

Hi all.

You may have read about the 10 levels of hell from the 'uploading stuff' thread in the 'Other Topics' section. Here are Phoebe's photos...

First of all, a quote from Phoebe:
"When I was in Singapore in 2007 my dad took a photo of each of the ten levels of hell, from a display in the tiger balm village/garden.. can't recall the name, but was the place where tiger balm was originally produced. I thought that if it was easy to upload the pictures people may be interested because I think he also took a photo of the description of each level. This would answer some questions in one of the threads, I think."

"I think the story with the first court of hell is that if a person has lived a good enough life, they are sent straight to the tenth court and do not have to go through the ordeals, i think this is only when they gain immortality, which is supported by some of the things that are mentioned in the books, unfortunately I am just going off memory on that. As I said, there's no photo of the description for the first court."

It looks like a fat version of one of the monsters you have to fight when you're in Hades, the Greek land of the dead on the PSP game God of War.

I wonder if there's any connection...

it is intresrting the levels of punishmint that exist for the different crimes and how they are ranked. like rumor-mongers go to level 7 with the rapists! it shows the culture of belief in other countries are not the same as ours.

I admit to being amazed by some of the included crimes and the punishments for them.
I was wondering if the deal was that you had to go through all 10 levels and only got punished on that level if you had commited the corresponding crimes. I saw some crimes that kind of repeated, so that's partly why I was wondering if that's the way it happens.
It really was very interesting, and at the time I was there they were upgrading, so it is probably all new by now. If people are interested in checking it out themselves, we went with a tour so, it should be easy to do so. The name is Haw Pa village, if memory serves.
