I don't think she has because the demon essence was introduced to her at the end of Blue Dragon after that she has only taken snake mother form when Simone touches her.

what if the serpent was from Simone. if she was with Kitty for a while and it comes out to protect her then surely there must be some attachment and if Emma had a strong snake totem and Kitty experimented on her while she was working there there might be a link as to why it comes out when only she is in danger.

far fetch theory; who knows what Kitty is capable off and she also knew who John was because Michelle let it slip that he always wore black.

True perhaps we'll all discover the answers to these and many more recurring questions in the next lot of books ( I HOPE) because it bugs me that i don't know.

Sort of like fishing, some times you get a nibble but lose the fish, sometimes you get nothing at all while other times you land the big one, it's enough to drive you crazy!! tongue.gif

Well, Snake Shen in general are known as protective types, so that could simply be Emma's nature, and certainly the snake has popped up when Simone wasn't around either. So the snake jumping out when Simone was in danger was probably more a reflexive thing by Emma rather than something initiated by Simone.

Of course we will always circle back to the fact that Kitty could have and probably did experiment with Emma even before we came in on Book 1. So there will always be an element of doubt about Kitty's involvement with the snake side of things.

But (with no real evidence to back it up) I choose to take the side that the pure snake is not Kitty's creation, but was possibly something Kitty took advantage of when forming the Snake/Demon hybrid. I'd even go so far as to cite the pure snake being the only reason Emma didn't get completely corrupted like all the other hybrids Kitty and Simon messed around with.

Hi everyone! This is all so exciting I can't wait to read Earth to Hell! I wasn't sure which one to choose actually because I have a different idea...

Maybe Emma is a normal girl that the serpent was using as a vessel to help Simone because it is drawn to her (even tho it doesn't know why) and it wasn't Johns wish to rejoin the turtle and the serpent (and be gone) so it found another way to be close to him. I am actually thinking that it joined with Emma long before meeting John and Emma was therefore drawn to Hong Kong to be close to Simone and John. Seeing as John lost the serpent before Emma was born it may have found her at a very early age....

mmm not sure if that makes sence at all but thats where my head is atm smile.gif
