Gold, why was gold punished, sent to John?

Gold must have done something really bad to be sent to the dark lord and not be allowed to take true form without his permission, Shouldn't he?

Isn't working for the dark lord some great honour or whatever, or does that not count for stones? Looking for any oppinions, or guesses as to what gold did.

I think that gold hooked up with a human or something like that, or played a major prank on the grandmother of all rocks(Uluru)

I think it is an honour to be made into jewelry, but I think to have to serve someone when you are a stone is punishment as you cannot be made into jewlry. I am pretty sure that is why it is a punishment, and also why gold has made a point of saying that gold's parent is honored to be an engagement ring to "The Dark Lady" (Emma). So being made to stay human is regarded as punishment.

When Emma had to send her family to the western palace gold said that he was honored to serve her and john and he knew jade would feel the same way.

I think that it started out as a punishment, but now he views serving the darklord as an honour. The only drawback has been that he was unable to take true form, but as the dark lord has told him that he can take true form untill further notice, I don't think Gold is phased.

I think he was who Martin had an affair with while being engaged to Jade. After all wasn't he supposed to marry a dragon girl and Jade is a princess.

I've found where I read about small shen, it was in Kylie's journal, so I have copied and pasted it here so that everyone else can read exactly what I read.

It's a journal entry from November last year, I remember reading this at the time and becoming very excited about the prospect of a graphic novel based on Gold etc.
