Title: Shift in writing styles.
Description: Anyone else notice it?

To me at least, the new book 'Earth to Hell' seems to have a very different writing style to the previous books.

Am I the only one who felt this?

I noticed there was a different focus, slight change in writing style. It was all good though.

Agreed, Phoebe. I also think Kylie might have done it on purpose.

I put it down to Emma being that bit older, more confidant and used to everything that's going on, and that being reflected by the more confidant, full on style.

i noticed it too, i guess its enevitable as the characters grow and change so they change how they get Kylie to write them. so after 8 years it would be assured that there are personality changes i guess. interesting

It could also be the amount of contact Kylie has had with other great authors has given her some new tricks to work with.

Either way, I'm not complaining, the new book was just as hard to put down as all the others were :)

Do we really care! earth to hell is good if it was written in braille I'd still read it

Dark Serpent - January 10, 2010 01:34 AM (GMT)
That's for sure it sucked me in right from the start only problem is i want the next one now to find out what happens next!! Oh well i suppose six months or so isn't that long to wait and i get to read this one another few hundred times before them to see what i missed 'GOODIE' :D

Actually I had noticed it, but towards the end of Earth to Hell it was similar to the Dark Heaven's style.

But it was good nonetheless.

I'm not sure I noticed anything at all even after reading Earth to Hell straight after finishing Blue Dragon. The only change I noticed is the dialogue/conversation rather than the writing style itself.

spazomasaur - January 16, 2010 01:22 PM (GMT)
yeah ive realisd that she has included more descriptions about the landscapes and life in the places, buildings and roads than in the previous books.

Green Dragon - February 3, 2011 12:50 AM (GMT)
Yeah i noticed that too i reckon it makes the book more beliveable to read and tells us a bit more about the charicters and their relayshonships with everyone elss
