"...trying to get the Zsculpt guys to get the level editor wrapped."
As if the wait was their fault... I don't know about the recent months, but in the original time frame we were expecting the editor, it was all about trying to get the SHFF guys to the level editor wrapped. It feels like he is trying to put the fault for the wait on them. But I'm excited none the less |

It probably was `nearly' - for some definition of nearly. But as we know, S(U)HFF wanted PeeCee and now they're caught between a and a since I don't think they are helping or earn their . Well maybe there's some money in the form of royalties; but I highly doubt (now the game's release is old) it's enough to even buy ...Whilst MSP hovers like a waiting for it to be ready, and have their day jobs and outside interests, so no matter what sort of MSP pushes under the door, only their own self interest will get it finished. That's the to it.As before, it will take as long as it takes. It isn't come out `soon' (except by the S(U)HFF definition of the word) and nothing short of is going to change that. |

I think this is encouraging, just because it shows that MSP is at least still *thinking* about DC every now and again (the fact that he posted on the facebook page suggests to me that this was conscious effort on his part, though maybe a bunch of us have been emailing and annoying him, who knows It also shows, however, how often (or rather, infrequently) SHFF's attention is actually focused on DC these days. So, while encouraging, I'd say that our "relative definition" of the word "soon" is still the right way to think at the present time (a la Richard). If the level editor was out by the early to mid part of 2010, I'd say we'd be doing pretty well. I won't be holding my breath, though. This post has been edited by tbone922 on Oct 27 2009, 05:05 PM |

I think MSP is trying to get DC fans to buy an unrelated game. Kind of a "buy this if you want DC ported to the iPhone"-type threat. I'm sure most DC fans won't fall for such a ruse. DC for the iPhone/iPod touch wouldn't make much sense anyway -- the controls are too complex to make this a fun game to play on a tiny multitouch surface. I don't know how the old MSP was back in 1987 but I know the new MSP is just a marketing drone. His heart isn't into video games anymore (if it ever was)...it's in making money...fast. edit: I'm sure the DC port will happen even if Big Buck Hunter Pro doesn't sell. I'm also sure it'll play like DC on other mobile phones, i.e. badly. This post has been edited by Alaric Was Here on Nov 4 2009, 04:24 AM |

MSP might decide that DC on the mobile is a completely different thing... maybe it will be a text adventure game with DC characters As you say (and we've ranted about in other threads) there is no way you could possibly do a straight conversion. As to quite why I would want to buy ``The world's #1 arcade hunting game'' for my iPhone (assuming I actually owned such a device) at S(U)HFF's say so; I have no idea. Based on my previous experience, it will try and install some shi**y phone-home sw protection into a privileged are of the OS, thus crashing my iPhone, and ruining the battery as it tries to connect before I can play... |

Why don't we just reverse this on him? Offer to buy that game if the level editor comes out. That way his potential sales from DC fans is on him, not on us on a (false?) hope that DC would actually be ported to iPhone. Sounds good to me

MSP was after more praise,
and sought out the iphone malaise. His game was a fail, so Mark dids't turn tail; the back-lash left him in a daze. This post has been edited by Richard on Nov 5 2009, 03:29 PM |

And one more (depending on which way you pronounce `castle')
(short `a') While Mark sewed his time in a tassel to better delay poor Dark Castle. He showed off a game, to try and gain fame; But ended up causing more hassle. (long `a'; bit of a cheat at the end) When Mark said `Come see in my parcel: The game that's delaying Dark Castle!' He had to concede (FaceBonkers agreed) The result: hopelessly farcical. |

New response:
That may true, but wasn't it MSP who was unresponsive when the Zacks were ready to move on it? |

izalde (or someone else) can you post the actual conversation thread - what was that a response to? I apologise if I'm the only one here not subscribed to face-bonk; but I don't intend to do so just to follow one person's blog. If MSP wants to earn back some trust or any respect, he could allow the Zacks to post private betas to trusted members. Or even a public beta. It's (going to be) a free (right, MSP, right?) level editor. What's wrong with normal beta programs? Or doesn't eSellerate support that? This post has been edited by Richard on Nov 7 2009, 02:19 AM |

I can totally understand Zack and Zack not giving this guy an answer or a new build. I too would rebel against MSP -- he's greedy, he's pompous, he accuses everyone but himself. As Richard has pointed out, MSP was the person that wasn't responding to the Zacks. Last time I checked, it wasn't ZB's idea to make a PC version. MSP, if you happen to read this, what is wrong with you? Seriously! What is wrong with you? |

It isn't even so much that; what irks me is the total lack of professionalism. I'm sure MSP is as annoyed as anyone else with constant pestering asking about the levels editor; but that's no excuse. You just don't say something like that publicly; don't air your dirty laundry. I think there's also something about glass houses and stones... |
